Rising was not a bad game (I liked it very much), but yes, it felt forced in the MGS universe. Like if it didn't belong there more than Snake's nightmare in mgs3. But I think that is because Raiden was almost a Superman with a katana. I think it could be way better if they had took the stealth approach and had made the game more like tenchu than like bayonetta. I don't think that Raiden transformation into a ninja cyborg was a bad move, but his rise to godhood was ridiculous.
So far, i'm between this and witcher 3, but mgs5 is coming to make the choice even harder! Good year for gaming! :)
So far, the only problem that need fixing asap (on my PS4 playthrough) is the font size - it's crazy small and really hard to read. And I'm the kind of guy who likes to stop and read every piece of lore in my rpg's.

This is nice to know. I hope it won't take long - my copy haven't arrived yet, so it would be really awesome if, by the time it did, the patch was alread up!
I don't think this means the story will be sub-par this time around (or less cinematic), it just means it will be more gameplay focused - which, considering it is the first open world metal gear solid, is not entirely surprising to me. Even my least favorite mgs was an incredibly memorable experience, so I don't believe this one will be, in any way, disappointing. Have faith, guys! :)
I wonder how much does it detracts from the experience (I hope it's not too noticeble). My copy should arrive tomorrow, so I'll know soon.
Here where I live there is no gaming rentals, most of the ppl I know haven't upgraded their old gen consoles yet, and a ps4 game, at launch, cost something around $83, so yeah, most of the time, I'm pretty much dependent on gaming reviews and streaming to decide whether or not I'll buy something at launch. That being said, The Witcher 3 was the second game this year I've bought without waiting for reviews (the other one being bloodborne). I'm still waiting for my hard copy...

If Sony acquired MGS, this would be the most exciting E3 I'd have ever seen.
Dragon Age Inquisition was really great, but that combat got old fast. I'm hoping that The Witcher 3 will fare much better in this regard (this will be my first Witcher, so I have no idea of what to expect). Also, I like the idea of being alone more than to be in a party. The lore in the Witcher 3 seems much more interesting too.
To me, it's not a tough decision at all.

The Witcher 3. I've been waiting for this for a long time! This, bloodborne, mgsv and ffxv are the games I've been most excited about since I've got my ps4.

I loved the setting and was waiting for it for a long time, BUT, I'll only get it at launch if there are enough changes to the formula. If it's just a reskin as usual, I'll wait for a big price drop.
Near AC's system, it is a big step forward. First of all, you can mash the attack button, but it's less effective to play like this, since if your timing is right, you'll get critical attacks instead of normal ones and maximise your combo counter. Yeah, arkham series (and then SoM) just made obvious how boring and obsolete AC's combat really is. It needs to evolve asap!
