when it comes to graphics ATI are the best price vs performance but are behind Nvidia in out right performance.
but saying that out of these 4 cards 4870 is the best. 1GB version gives you about 5 FPS more give or take.

well I enjoyed it on my x1950 pro (medium to low) still enjoying this series now with my GTX 285 maxed.
1 TB hard drive costs about £50 - £75. about the price of a console game.
For me I can download 800MB is less than 5 minutes,
also with steam's pre-install, I install the game, and then wait for midnight on release and the game is unlocked usually about 9 hours before the shops are open.
plus i'm looking to get 50Mbps broadband and if i do i could download GTA IV which is about 16GB in less than 45 minutes.
don't know what the fuse was about blu ray because most games that are released are less than 9GB, so DL DVD will do.
for example most games that i get on steam and on disk will always be less than 9GB besides GTA IV,
GTA IV is the only game that i have on steam that is more than 9GB and i have 45 games on steam at the moment.
so blu ray is not really needed.
blu ray may be the future for next gen consoles and may be PC disc.

plus i only have 830GB across drives (80GB for windows, 250GB and 500GB for games and steam) total 45 games just under 400GB left.
I have said it before and i will say it again Microsoft did not enter the console industry to be world leaders but the stop the developments of other companies becoming powerful in IT like them.
But if i was Microsoft even with a decline in profits (they still made more money than any other IT company,) i would not be worried.
also vista sold 400 million copies in first year, selling for £100 - £200 at the time, xbox even now price at £130 - £300 would have to sell more than 300 million to equal vistas profits
Microsoft as a company is amazing to me, they have achieve so much in so little time.
The fact that xbox fans can't accept is that Microsoft made $22 billion in 2008 fiscal year less that $4 billion came for the xbox division.
I have little respect for the consoles this gen and only looking forward to these games; GT 5, GT PSP, heavy rain, halo odst, forza 3, next zelda on wii and thats it.

one big advantage of the slim ps3 is 45nm chips meaning, even less failure rates as overheating will be less of an issue because the chips will require less power
the reason why the older ps3 and 360 bomb more easily is because there chip use more power and there for over heat more.
between me and my bro we have had 5 ps3s 3 ylod, only i have the 40GB model with 160GB HDD with the 65nm chips in it, and the original 60GB has 90nm chips.

my GTX 285 has been up to 79c before its restarted (fail safe system) and has been manufactured to operate at 120c
my Q6600 has gone up to 65c before it also restarts (fail safe system) and has only been manufactured to operate between 65c - 80c
my motherboard will auto flash if it fails the post test, and also has a backup bios if that fails, i have got a image of windows so if that fails it...
anything over 24 frames is not lag, consoles choose the 30 to 60 frames limit to not stress out the hardware, even if they say 60 frames it does not mean it is 60 all the time, frames jump all the time.
on PC the user has the choice of vsync this limits the frames to 60 or 30 depending on game, but again if the game is visually powerful it will jump up and down.
if you don't have vsnyc on PC then it will just max out the video card rather than using what it only needs
getting this, best game on PSP and can't wait for GT5

The difference between the models are not just hard disk capacity but more important ones such as:
* Smaller manufacturing for example. 65nm cell & RSX smaller mobo, lower production costs
* Evolution of cooling (liter fan sink) and component life span = less YLOD
The improvements in HDD capacity is so it looks more appealing for the average customer and even better with price cuts. If I was a new customer it would be cheapest PS3 i could get hold of e.g. 4...
