I honestly completley forgot that Lee wasn't a white guy. You're right, his skin tone wasn't really taken into consideration. Even though there are a few instances in the story where characters try not to offend him by saying that he knows his way around a city or he's good at breaking into cars or something, but little things like that I can relate with as a black gamer.

I agree with you to an extent, but I think you're missing the point. I, too, am of the mindset that an artist should be allowed to design and create whatever they please, be it offensive or not. Whether or not I agree with their work is beside the point, it's called artistic expression.

HOWEVER, like the issue of sexism, racial stereotyping in video games is a problem that needs to be addressed and resolved before we can go back to having big, scary, screaming black m...

With women, you're not going to see as many stereotypes because they're supposed to be desirable for the player (yes, games are still doing that for some reason). So usually, they'll just have a different skin tone but act just like your usual female character in a video game. If they were scary, ugly, over-the-top, and animalisitc like their male counterparts, it just wouldn't work as wank material.

Brilliant, simply brilliant. The new generation is indeed offering up a few unique deviations on how competitive multiplayer is played, and we're already seeing that in the mainstream. We're seeing this with Titanfall (as you've mentioned) and Evolve. But a lot of gamers are against Titanfall.

For some strange reason, people are of the mindset that Titanfall needs to have a ridiculous amount of players in order to be considered a next-gen game. I find that to be v...

This, a thousand times.

When the series decides to stop treating me like a braind dead monkey who just wants to watch a movie, then MAYBE I'll give it another chance. As it stands, I just can't support this series anymore. When the game takes control from you so that THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES can react to a jump scare, that's just bad design. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, gents.

YES. A thousand times, YES. Generations made me care about Sonic again, but it also reminded me why people hate the game. Sonic team should look at Mario 3D world in terms of perspective (a marrying of both 2D and 3D), because wildly switching between a 2D and 3D perspective just doesn't really work for Sonic games.

And I guess Sonic wants to be Nathan Drake for some reason.

I don't think a film has to be necessarily realistic, we see stylized films that exaggerate things all the time. Directors like Quantin Tarantino (Django) and Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim) have made the kind of movies that you'd be forgiven for thinking they came from a cartoon or comic book. Like you said, it is a matter of believability.

Secondly, the first point is where we find the root of the problem. According to Kevin Fiege, the head of Marvel Studios, he had to...

@Bolts-N-Rays1109
There will other co-op games, my friend, don't fret. The generation just started.

The reason I prefer PlayStation to Xbox is because there's a bigger emphasis on single-player, puzzles, adventure, and cinematic experiences (Last of Us, Uncharted, Journey, Shadow of The Colossus, Infamous). With Xbox, there's a huge emphasis on online, social, action and competitive experiences (Halo, Gears of War). That's not to say each is exclusive to one console (PS: Killzone, XB: Fable), but it's obvious where the main focus is for each.

Secondly... Inf...

My apologies, co-op was the last thing on my mind. I assumed they were referring to an online mode separate from the campaign. A type of horde mode is the only thing I'd actually like to see in a game like this.

Besides that, this is clearly made to be a single-player experience. I'm become annoyed with a lot of people who go off of the notion that just because a game is shooter-based, it MUST include some kind of online social feature.
The game is made to be...

I feel sorry for any poor fellow who finds this disappointing.

Guys. If you keep refusing to show gameplay, and instead want to keep building up hype for the game, then it's going to reach a point of no return. The actual game will be no match for the insane level of hype. Let's just cool it until the gameplay reveal, yeah?

I've never seen a developer so sure of themselves before, but given Ready At Dawn's track record, it only makes sense. This game can't release fast enough.

This is what I was talking about. If the game really is open enough, then regardless of how long it takes to beat the story, you'll still have plenty of reason to come back. It's like how Skyrim can be beaten in just over 2 hours by just playing the story missions. Like cleft5's example above, Skyrim is NOT a 2 hour game.

We can't fly off the handle over a game that we still don't know much about in terms of content, and something tells me that we may be i...

Though you could interpret it that way, Kojima has stated that the purpose of Ground Zeroes is to tide fans over because the full game's release is no where in sight.

The problem there is
1. The game is reportedly short.
2. The game is over-priced.

I'm going to wait and see how much additional the content the game offers besides the story mode before I support it.

4379d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

So the campaign is less than 2 hours? That's not counting the extra missions then, which leads me to wonder just how many additional missions the game will feature, such as the exclusive ones.

If the additional mission count is low, and the game's levels aren't open enough to promote replayability, then I can't justify the price tag.

4379d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

@DonDon sorry, I was going off of dated information in terms of retail.

However, regarding the "what about him?" quoute, we can't really rule out anything in a trailer when Kojima is involved can we? And here's a more out-there excuse:

reconstructive surgery.

Let's keep this going, I like sounding crazy.

When you put into perspective, and as much as all the lagging and game-breaking annoyed me, MGO was indeed one of the most versatile and engaging online experiences I've ever played. I honestly didn't even realize what we've lost until your retrospective. Nothing else I've played compares to Metal Gear's online.

4380d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well, Ground Zeroes on Xbox One and PS4 are download-only titles, so if you couldn't connect to the internet, you wouldn't be getting the game anyway. Then again, I'm getting ahead of myself. My idea is that players may be able to create their own personal avatar within Ground Zeroes, and then be able to use that character in MGO with the future release of the Phantom Pain.

Even without being able to play MGO, last-gen players will still be able to look forward to...

Let's look past the exclusive argument for a bit, and at the bigger picture here.

Alien Isolation:

-made it's debut on Xbox Live Marketplace.

-is a survival horror game

-is clearly a triple A game

-could possibly be the first mainstream horror game in the infancy of a new generation (that's actually a big deal)

The significance of this game is that it's clearly willing to stan...
