Yeah for the first 20 hours. But you get used to scenery. All you want to do is complete all the missions, but you gotta ride around and it's incredibly boring. Yes, you can put it on auto-drive, but you have to watch it and keep an eye out for Cougars and Enemies etc etc. They should have had a better fast travel system available for the people that wanted it. Or at least, unlock a better one at a certain point.
AND YET... only about 50% of people who bought the game have finished Chapter 2, which is basically near the start of the game. The game is over 7 months old. What does that tell you about being a so-called "quintessential open world game" ????
Look, I Platinumed Red Dead 2 ok. Only 0.1% have done it. It's not hard to do, it's just boring as hell to grind through some of the ridiculous trophies.
BUT, don't act like Red Dead 2 is the...
That's not true at all. It's as good or as bad as AI in a game like Far Cry. Depends on how you look at it. I hope next gen they can do more for better AI.
Devs won't have to build games or certain mechanics around Loading Screens and Loads times. Not to mention how fast you can move. I hope Pop-in in ALL open world games will be all but eliminated.
My favourite style of games is Souls games etc.
2nd Fav is open world games.
3rd Puzzle games
There's NOTHING wrong with open world games. They sell. They sell because people like them. Nuff said
I played all of them except Rage 2 and Just Cause 4. Days Gone should be in your top or middle list. I Platinumed Red Dead 2, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn.... and Days Gone is NOT lifeless mate. It's anything but Lifeless.
AGREED. I platinumed Red Dead 2 and the Far Cry's. I Platinumed Days Gone. Days Gone is awesome. Just as good as any of the other games I mentioned. TAKE IT TO THE BANK.
I got the Plat Trophy. As soon as the 'survival mode' is out, I'm jumping back in.
Exactly. Even the gamers that like playing only digital games, still prefer not to stream. I mean, really, who wants to stream new AAA games? They're acting like this is the future, but not from where I'm sitting. Not next gen. MAybe the gen after.
It's evidence that they're covering their bases. That's it.
Word of mouth. If the game was crap, people wouldn't buy it. People wouldn't tell others to buy it. People would put their concerns on social media. People would downvote any Playstation accolades video on youtube. BUT the exact opposite happened, why? Because the game is good. Sales do tell a big part if the game was good or not. The game is good. I platinumed it and other games like it, like Red Dead 2 and the Far Crys. Game is awesome.
Damn you got a Blizzard? Lol my one was day time. Blizzard would have been so sweet for the chaos lol
I Platinumed BOTH games. Days Gone and Red Dead 2. They're both great games. But you look at the trophy pecentage for Red Dead 2 and compare it to Days Gone, so many more people have abandoned Red Dead 2 earlier than expected. It's kind of crazy. Days Gone percentage is really healthy for a long open-world game.
I recently got the platinum trophy from this game and I friggin loved it. So much so, that I'm having a hard time starting a different game. If the 'survival' difficulty was out now, I would start Days Gone all over again.
We need to avoid VICE.COM like the plague.
OMG you can stop that. There is an option to manually download updates or make sure it updates automatically. I'm not reading a damn thing from crybaby Kotaku, so if the article turns out to be something else, then... who cares
@ Captain. No it doesn't. You don't really have to worry about dragonrot.
Tyrannicon. Follow this guy on youtube, hilarious. Also, the other guy on his channel called Throthgar does some hilarious rage playthroughs.

I agree for the most part. I loved the game. I do play a lot of open world games. I give it a 9.5 so basically the same score. But I can understand why some people don't like it or can't be bothered to finish it. I always overlook a game's flaws if it's a great game, and this one is excellent. But I could make a very big list of flaws for this game, and many of them have caused A LOT of people to not enjoy the game... regardless of the amazing scores it has gotten.
