There really isn't a price drop then...It was just to get rid of the 60gb models so they could upgrade to 80gb models instead...But I think Europe will still get 60gb models, weird stuff.

Because UK's exchange rate is like no.1 at £1 = $1.90 with Sony (and the other companies) charging full price they are in effect selling PS3's in the UK for over $800 each so they can cut the price in Japan and USA but still give us a good shafting up the backside!

I had a Wii, nice looking machine but other than that the games sucked big time and are over priced imo.
The Wii is only good if you got family and friends round that want a good laugh or you got grandparents that want to have a go.
Other than that if you want a REAL good gaming experience this X-Mas get a PS3 and 360 or whichever one you are more keen on.
Sony is getting lots of content on the PSN but is this USA only?? Luckily I have a US account but seriously E3 content SHOULD be available globablly.
An Xbox 360 and I am extremely happy with it, mine is still working for over a year and I have been enjoying all that Microsoft has to offer from peripherals, games, online service and HD-DVD's via the add-on.
I also have a PS3 and recently have been enjoying a couple of blu-ray movies, Ninja Gaiden Sigma which I just completed and some of the online games that Sony has to offer.
Peter Moore has shown some ignorance in what he said - the 60gb PS3 has been reduced...
Japan got a price cut on launch and is VERY CHEAP, USA just got $100 off the 60gb and what does Europe get? 2 old games that are budget and an extra pad.
EDIT: €600 is around £407 so if Sony sell it for £400 or £399.99 with both games and extra pad then that is a very good deal imo.
However some retailers have been offering good value bundles for a while now, mostly online retailers.
And now (well in the USA) its even more worth it, if you look at just the hardware that its packing under the hood (60gb version, forget the 80gb) for $500 you're getting a lot of kit:
Bluetooth built in
Wifi built in
4 USB 2.0 ports
Memory slots
Blu-ray player which also supports many audio formats
60gb hard drive
CELL processor
RSX GPU
Put all that into place and even the original $600 was worth it.
This year Sony did do a lot better, last year they were nervous - dropped the PSP even and made silly annoucments all in all it was a shambles.
But this time since the PS3 is now in the market I guess they know how they stand and what they need to release since they have it working in the back just to bring out later on.
Nintendo well imo they always fail to impress with gimmicks like WiiFit whats next? WiiEat?

I have a US account and before Microsoft blocked 'fake' accounts I was able to download movies the only con was that it costs for an SD movie the same price to rent BUT you can only keep it for 24hrs from the moment you press PLAY.
Don't think because its via digital distribution its cheaper, dont forget this is MICROSOFT they will charge full price and then some if they can.

Anyways knowing Ubisoft the 360 version is sure to be the better version when it comes out.
EDIT: Hey Rev all ports to the PS3 from the 360 have been really bad its fact deal with it.
All games are pretty much made on the 360 first since its the leading platform, fact.
Virtua Fighter is a prime example, 360 gets a much better version and it will hap...
To see how the visuals will look ingame, its supposed to look better than Gears Of War from what I read ages ago.
Its good the game isn't coming out this year for the 360 since it has far too many exclusives and top titles this year and couldn't possibly find time to play that and Halo 3, Mass Effect, PGR4, Bioshock, Lost Odessy and even GTA4 lol along with UT3.

This story and the link are the same ones from before advising of the extended warranty no where does it specifically say that MICROSOFT i.e. a representative has told sources all are faulty.
