Well I think its pretty obvious that 6 years after its launch the 360 and more so with Kinect has become a cash cow for MS. They wont be bothering with trying to cater to core gamers anymore. They already got them in a bag between through out 2005-2010.
Now all the focus is expanding their market share and abandoning their core user base in the process.

Its the word of mouth. When the BF3 trailer cam out I didnt hear anobody outside of the web talk about it. Whereas for the MW3 trailer even my facebook contacts were updating their status's and talking about the trailer.

The thing is the PS3 was supposed to be heads and shoulders above everything this gen. The truth is there are excellent games on the 360 too.
Its the pain and disillusion of seeing multiplats and 360 games score as high and/or higher than PS3 exclusives that has lead to major fits when an exclusive (PS3 100% of the time) scores a good (7.5 for instance) but not excellent score.

Anyways the fact that some sequels improve on their predecessor but still get lower scores is due to the fact that standards and expectation have changed. Reviews arent a science or something where a better looking sequel or better playing for instance automatically scores higher.
Even gamers themselves dont sometimes seem as hyped for some sequels. Sales prove it for KZ3 or LBP2 for instance like Logic already said above.
Or you just cut the number of cutscenes by half and there you have it, 2 discs maximum MGS game on 360.

Yep thank God the PSP GO flopped and that the had a hard time with a certain 600 dollar price tag. I really hope its going to be a hit, they deserve it for makinng it so affordable.
