then MS should drop the price further (at least the Elite), as the Bluray drive and the built in Wifi is something that can be immediately compared in a bullet point fashion when someone goes to buy a new console. Having 2 major features less than competition at the same price does not appeal well to an average consumer.

great point. This is another main reason for the slow adoption rate the rewritable BD drives. Even at the same write speed as a DVD writer, it will take 5 times as long (25GB Vs 4.7GB) to burn a full disk.
