Cache is just the term used to temporarily save files(from Bluray disc to hard drive) then auto delete them when they are no longer needed.
It is the exact same process a web browser uses to temporarily store images to view on a web page.
While I agree with you up to this point you can't really rule out the APU to make massive improvements in the near future especially considering the new consoles use them.
I am in no way saying the PS4 is as powerful as a top range PC I am just saying they are getting quite impressive. To fit an 8 core cpu and a 7870 gpu equivalent in one chip is a big achievement.

haha I was watching an interview with pachter on rev3 games with Adam sessler from just before the Xbox reveal today. It is funny the amount of stuff he predicted wrong but to be fair was correct in saying kinect comes in every box.

The cloud is not going to magically give you unlimited game storage data.
The game is not going to write 45GB everytime you launch it to the hard drive. Come on people it will just write the data it needs for upcoming parts of the game.
