The future is Forsaken.
And thank you, Heather.
I honestly thought the title was S.O.D for a moment.
This may very well be the surprise hit of the year for Switch, or at least the first half. I checked a few stores out just to see how Octopath was doing while out and about yesterday and my local Walmart had one copy left, and both Target and Best Buy were sold out. Pretty cool to see a new IP do so well. So, who's all enjoying Octopath Traveler?
That's tough. There's been so many throughout the years... Okay, I'm going to say Ocarina of Time. Seeing the game - or tech demo rather - at Space World '95 and reading about the game every so often in varies magazines really kept me from ever forgetting about it. Of course it helped more in the fact that I was replaying every Zelda title up into that point on a regular basis, and with A Link to the Past being my favorite at the time, my hype was sealed.

Me too! After my first play through it became a yearly ritual to go through it again, and admittedly I would find new ways to challenge myself each time, like not being able to use any Pick Me Ups or handicapping my HP to certain levels; I tried all kinds of things really. I still consider it one of my top favorite games of all time.
I wholeheartedly agree. I would preorder in a heartbeat and shamelessly cry at the announcement, like all those grown men crying when they saw Twilight Princess announced.
Sadly you may be right, but I am keeping the dream alive for all of us. It can be a heavy digital burden, but someone has to do it.
I'm grateful I could for someone. And you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
Only dislikes with no debatable opinion? On the internet?!
I like your raincoat.
I would be pretty surprised if Microsoft didn't come out swinging on the next Xbox launch. I personally think they've learned a lot this generation with the DRM fiasco, backwards compatibility, investing in gaming (although I don't agree with how that was done), and their supposed new focus on the community. Gen 9 could very well be a great "battle" between the Big 3.
On PC. Console versions to soon follow.
Thanks, brando. And I wholeheartedly agree with you.
Yeah, or we could dare the Octopath Traveler Team to make a Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars sequel...
Sega, no. Just. No.
I remember reading about some of the development of Thrill Kill in Gamepro magazine, and it getting the AO rating. That alone in '98 warranted a purchase, because.. well, it's an AO game, man.
Then EA canned it so they wouldn't hurt their image, which really sucks for the development team and their hard work. Overall, though, no biggie. We still have Mortal Kombat and can find Thrill Kill online. And not to mention with the releases in 1998 - arguably the best year in vid...
Digital release by September for those interested.
There's still time to mess this up, but the deeper narrative experience you guys are aiming for may be cool, especially for the fans of the original.
With that "deeper narrative" in mind, I admit I can't escape the notion that this game is a part of an unannounced reboot plan, a soft rewrite of the series to somehow better tie-in the franchise’s new direction with Resident Evil 7 and possibly fix a few mistakes the series houses. Guess we'll see.
