MS has realized they can’t win that fight, so they’ve resorted to PR campaigning. This will keep their base satisfied and distracted until next generation arrives.
Sony just doesn’t want people to be able to pay MS for game related micro transactions (ex. Skins) and then use them on Sony’s PlayStation network. It’s pretty legitimate. We’ve already had crossplay with other consoles and PC, but what the new push by MS is not mentioning is that MS wants unfettered access to Sony’s customers and in my opinion, PlayStation has every right not to allow it.
Iran is not nearly as backward as Saudi Arabia. Not even close.
And I believe you mean 1979, not 1970.
Reason 1: if you don’t own a PS4, you should.
Eventually. It’s how it’s always been.
This and Shenmue III, and Days Gone
That thing was a thing of beauty. Loved mine.
I believe Shenmue 3 is currently arriving only on PC & PS4.
The wait is going to make it all the sweeter when it finally arrives.
Sony developers compete with one another.
Microsoft is building toward a service future, I’m sure it’s great from a business perspective. I think the side that MS lacks in is the art side of games. They are very behind in games know-how, they may start any generation with a bang but I think most people are on to them regarding Xbox’s inability to compete during the course of the entire generation. (Something they have shown for 3 generations in a row now)
It not a problem because you end up spending it eventually. Unless you intend to buy something and never use the network again, it’s not a big deal.
Yeah, but at least it’s gaming related.
Most of the time they are too close anyway.
That’s him saying his opinion, not Sony.... lol
OT: I think MS would be wise to try and release their console away from PlayStation, a head to head would end badly for Xbox.
It will get lighter, faster, and less intrusive like ANY other technology. There is going to be a sweet tipping point where the mainstream will pick it up. As to cables, I’m not holding hope that we loose those in the short term (next gen even) because latency is a problem and it will be remedied by stronger hardware, so I don’t see a headset maker wanting to offset the gains of new hardware with wireless losses. So unfortunately the wires will be with us for a while I think.
We never had a discussion that 3D tv was going to get that much better. 3D tv was already at its optimum level. To compare VR to 3D tv is just silly.
VR will be here and it will become more mainstream as the technology gets more advanced, lighter, less intrusive, and smaller. Anyone who puts a headset on can immediately tell where this tech can go. As to AR, we might get something possibly but it won’t be a replacement for VR. Some experiences in VR simply cannot be achiev...
Yeah it’s not a gimmick. It only gets better with experience and stronger technology.
It’s not dying anywhere. Especially on consoles.
@10th Rider
They do with PC, but to directly let MS benefit from playstation’s user base, knowing that MS has more of a presence on PC because of windows, would be a stupid move for PlayStation. Sony doesn’t have a problem with people playing together, they have a problem when MS wants to bundle crossplay with cross-micro-transactions.

MS isn’t offering an olive branch though, it’s more of a spear than a branch. They are saying either agree to shar...
