Yeah they support quad layer but it would be crazy slow. The Bluray drive in the PS4 is only 6x speed. So it can only read up to 27 MB/s. If it was a 16x drive it would make more sense since it can read up to 72 MB/s. Since it installs most of it on the HDD anyway its just not worth the cost as much since the HDD can read up to in a perfect world 300MB/s but its more like 150-200 instead which is still much faster than running straight off the disk.

They will be taking a walk on all that money they rake in next month. Not giving a damn about Zerobalance's opinion.

On a serious note though, is this really whats gonna make tons of people not buy the game? I doubt it. If anything you could always buy it secondhand so you don't give Activision or Sony your money and it goes to someone on Facebook marketplace instead, if that's really why you don't want to buy it just to boycott supporting them with your mon...

Because its probably just a one map horde mode.... I could be wrong but from what the devs comment says to me is, "you wont be missing out on anything crazy."

Considering its one mode in spec ops and not like a map pack, it makes more sense. What kind of incentive is it to buy the game on a PS4 for a 1 month exclusive on ONE MODE in the whole spec ops section of the game. one year sounds nicer to people and 99% of the player base probably doesn't even care anyway

I agree fooling the system to have an advantage over controller players is wrong. But point and click headshots, im thinking you are meaning using a mouse is unsatisfying. If that is what you mean, then I completely disagree. I've gotten some of the most satisfying wrist snapping headshots by using a mouse. Moments where i get hyped about the shot i just made. I only felt that way on console when I was drunk lol.

Cant take a joke or someones opinion I see. Take it easy.... It just seemed a bit ironic that you said taste for "artsy" games. Then label off multiple games with a more artistic style IMO than death stranding. Good job on the diverse list of games Mines pretty damn diverse too. https://psnprofiles.com/Sto...

And when did I say you didn't have a diverse list of games?? You didn't have to def...

Thats exactly what Kojima said when he was demonstrating it. He said you just have to play it to understand whats so great here. Like the good old days when we didn't have tons of previews and trailers showing off the game before it's released.

2356d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Ok we get it. you prefer anime games over "artsy games". Doesn't make much sense considering those games you named off all would be considered "artsy" to me based off the graphical design. If anything as you get older shouldn't your taste for anime bouncy breasted girls grow thin?

I believe that sonys backwards compatability will be native. Meaning that it wont have to run any differently than how a PS5 would run a game. When they were showing off the much faster loading times with Spiderman running on a PS5 proves that the PS4 games should be able to take advantage of the new hardware rather than everything having to run in some form of compatability mode Like how they are doing it with XBO. Their setup should work just like a game that came out on Windows 7 still wor...

Disney does not own the games rights... Disney owns marvel, and Sony owns Spiderman. Insomniac collaborated with marvel to make it the best authentic Spiderman game they could. That Disney and Sony deal is only related to the marvel Spiderman movies. Sony allowed them to use Spiderman as long as Sony got all the profits from it. Now Disney wants half the cut for the next movie since the Far From Home was such a success.

What game out there doesn't have tedious tasks to do? All games have them in some form. It's just a matter of how well the devs make those tedious tasks more enjoyable to where you don't consider it a tedious task.

Don't forget though, there is some motorcycle you can also use in the game according to trailers. So you wont always be on foot.

It clearly a PS exclusive. Yeah sure it may come out on pc a couple years down the road but i still doubt that, but it will not touch any other console. After every DS trailer it clearly states that "Death Stranding is a Trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC". Am i the only one who notices that? Nobody else has pointed that out.

I guarantee you there are people that would love to play that. Plenty of people play Start citizen and theres a lot of downtime in between each star system and planets you have to warp drive to. Even DayZ is a good example. Lots of running in a MASSIVE map just to potentially get killed and have to start all over and running another 30 minutes back to your dead body/friends you are playing with.

I picked this up last night and so far its pretty fun. I was half asleep when I started playing it and I sucked hard at it lol. Plan on giving it another try at lunch break.

@Sophisticated_chap

While you do have some fair points, I completely disagree with your beliefs on PC gaming going down the tubes. The same stuff was said at the beginning of the current gen consoles, and PC gaming has been increasing in popularity and market value over the past 10 years and on top of that, it is so much easier to jump into PC gaming now than how it used to be.

Sure PC gaming can be pretty expensive, but you know what you get with the ex...

If I remember correctly, I haven't played the new Mario Party in a few months but Im pretty sure this game doesn't have a handheld control scheme due to the mini games. So honestly I don't believe its gonna have controllers built into it. First off that would defeat the purpose of it being named a Nintendo Switch. And nobody would be able to play Mario party since it requires wireless Joy-cons. Or they would have to buy a extra set of controllers to play that game.

@ DaDrunkenJester
You are taking his comment way too literally. His point was comparing the fact that renaming something thats bad to sound good doesn't make it any better....

Lootboxes are a cancer to the gaming industry. I personally believe that these kinds of practices should only be allowed in F2P games since thats basically the only way those games can make money.

Most likely this is due to them using a Sony owned Engine.
