This is really disappointing. Why would MS gimp such an essential feature as surround sound? Perhaps it is a licensing issue that can be updated via firmware. There are many TVs (older than 2 years) that won't pass a native DTS or DD signal.
There are certainly work-arounds for this issue such connecting an optical cable (TOSLINK) or a digital audio coaxial cable from the cable box to the A/V receiver. Although, it should not be necessary to jump through these hoops to en...

29% is actually a really high adoption rate for consumer electronics. That figure is based on declining numbers so in years past it was actually higher.

Batteries - I prefer batteries. I have had too many instances in which I couldn't game on my PS3 because the controller was not charged.
Resolution - The "atrocity" that is resolutiongate will be a forgotten memory once developers get a handle on the system.
Price - $100 is not going to influence my buying decision one way or another. Besides, I'm getting both systems.
