THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. TO GET IT ON BLU-RAY WOULD BE GREAT!

I have the sony Bravia XBR4 and a PS3. Nothing but visual orgasm. The transformers dvd upscaled to 1080p and looked awesome. No lie just the plain truth. I played it on my regular dvd player and it sucked. The PS3 realy does a good job upscaling movies either from a dvd or from the hdd. Hi-def on a hold is great. Blu-ray is the winner go buy a player if you don't like PS3 although you will get more bang for your buck strating @ $399.00.

M$ just trying to beat Sony to the punch but it might backfire. RROD is a factor because of the amount of heat that will probably be generated leaving on the system. Media room on a disc? What about HDD space. M$ must be planning to sell larger capacity drives for cheap. HD DVR and downloads of digital content require large amounts of space. Anyway good luck. M$ gets no more of my money.

Records no, but RROD definitely.

Sony started the development but more companies joined to bring this format to the consumer. Sony is just a major partner. Also Apple and Dell are on the BDA board from a long time, waiting to release their players. Also BDA has already gone to 100GB. What is interesting is that Toshiba are partners with IBM and Sony in the cell broadband chip production. How come they decided to go HD-DVD. Oh i think M$ had something to do with it. Anyway we have a solid format now.

FINALLY! THIS STUPID HD-DVD CAN BURN. THE REST OF THE WORLD USE BLU-RAY THAT INCLUDES THE HI-TECH COUNTRY JAPAN. WHY WOULD AMERICA NOT USE BLU-RAY FORMAT TO BE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS THE REST OF THE WORLD. BLU-RAY IS NOT ONLY SONY. ITS JAPAN AND AMERICA. ITS UNIVERSAL. EVERY OTHER COUNTRY MAINLY USE BLU-RAY. GOOGLE IT. M$ LOSES.

Apple has been a member on the Blu-Ray committee since this so called war started. There is also Dell, and i believe Hp as well. HD-DVD is dead. Once computer manufacturers start to sell blu-ray drives with their systems hd-dvd will lose.

$50 and it decides to mess up during the holidays. My friends play my PS3 all day especially COD4 and UT3. Warhawk is also solid. Online free, priceless.

I have a 40 xbr4 1080p Sony lcd hdtv and it is worth every penny. The motion enhancer makes even analogue signals look great. Directv hd looks good. The picture comes out very real when in 1080 mode. I used just a regular antennae the first time and those pictures looked great. Samsung also does a great job as well. Save your money and buy a 1080p hdtv especially for future proof.

Cheap so soon means only one thing. A sellout. Toshiba could be trying to sell out their stock of units so cheap because they are probably not selling. If you google sales for blu-ray around the world, you will see that it is higher than hddvd. The blu-ray companies could if they wanted to sell their units cheaper which Samsung has already done and others to follow.

Here is an eg.
