I was going to say racing and fighting games but they all fit under the sports category. There is nothing special about Call of Duty and Battlefield (or any generic shooter) to make anyone pay $60 on day one.
We all have our own preferred games but some titles are not worth purchasing on day 1.
Dino Crisis should have been the action horror game of Capcom before they made the mistake of making a game based on a n old joke (Jurassic Park in Space). The horror genre now is having some real competition with games like Alien: Isolation and Five Nights at Freddy's. Its best for Capcom to take the series back to its roots.
RE6 was less of a horror and more of a desperate attempt to pander to COD gamers, a mistake that so many game like SOCOM 4 made.
Saints Row IV was already a great game while the Next Gen version is just an excuse to play it again, not in a bad way.
With games like Five Nights at Freddy's along with Alien Isolation taking horror survival back to its roots of terror, Capcom will get its act together and actually focus on making a real horror survival rather than pandering to the Call of Duty fans.
That is why the smart gamer camps while everyone else just runs and guns.
I think most gamers just hate campers because they are better than other players.

One the biggest issues I have with the victims of Gamergate is that they have given power to movement by giving their threats legitimacy. Why these threats should not be taken seriously is because the targets are Feminist game critics in the west, not civil rights activists or investigative journalists in some Third World kleptocracy.

This is not about Gamergate or issues related to women in gaming, this is petty slander that is like the crap Jack Thompson pulled. Nicole is no hero, she is just another Al Sharpton seeking attention at the expense of victims of sexual assault. People like her need to be called out for the frauds they are.
Why digital downloads and CD games are the same price has also baffled me. Personally I preferred digital download for my PC games and a hard disc for console.
Alien Isolation was a good horror game and The Evil Within was not too bad. Both had more scares than the last few Resident Evil games.
Not all movie games are bad and some do a great job of continuing an iconic story. In a rare example, The Thing video game did a better job of adding to an iconic work of horror than the crappy prequel that no one wanted.
