Nvidia did give Sony udpates. PhysX support, hello? Developers don't use it, but it was given to them.

Facial motion capture is a big thing now in game development, while indeed animators can still go in and fix up animations but the bulk of the time to do that now lies on polishing more than hand animating every frame.
