The difference is back then people were mostly joking or just in it for shock value. These days the people saying this stuff are 100% serious. And either way it wasn't appropriate then and it still isn't now.

Absolutely, by Jan 1 2019 they will be around 92-93m even if PS5 released 2019 the system would continue selling beyond that. But the next generation will most likely not start until 2020 in which case it'll be a easy cruise to 100 in 2019.
Why does windowscentral say PSNow has over 600 games, when PSNows advertising says over 650? And the actual number is around 750 depending on region.
Game pass still requires Live to play games online. PSNow allows you to play it's games online with out PS+.
