there is a HUGE difference between websites posting reviews with clear concise opinions and reasons for games being good or bad, and sites like HHG who don't do that even slightly. they use terms like crazy, stupid, etc.. they have no ability to convey an actual opinion other than "that's awesome." they don't rely on their knowledge of the language. they rely on the stupidity of their fanboy readers.

i recently decided to play gears 1 just to remember the differences. gears 1 had a lot of exploits, and host advantage sucked. but gears 2 has those, plus it has a lot of features that EVERYONE hates, they can't seem to fix the shotgun no matter what, and it doesn't move as smooth.

pretty hard to compete with crysis.
although if you played farcry 2 on PC, you'd know that game does a lot of things better than crysis. some things not as well though.

Every review i've heard is exactly the same. They always mention the "infamous" trailer (and anyone with any intelligence knew it wasn't real) and how they needed to live up to it. then they say, "while it falls short of the original trailer it is still a gorgeous game." then they go on to talk about how great the multiplayer is.

i couldn't agree more about gears 2 being broken. BUT...when they did the multiplayer reviews of the game, they played lan games. the game wasn't available on live yet so their experience was where there was no off host. and most of the bugs and glitches exist due to exploiting being off host. and the host advantages like a working shotgun wouldn't show up either because on a lan, everyone is effectively host.
