With EA running out of time with their Star Wars license they realized they needed more Star Wars games. From the moment they had the franchise, it should have been all hands on deck.
Visceral Games, Bioware, Respawn, Dice, Criterion, Maxis, and Motive all should have had at least 1 Star Wars game each. Each having their own genre and take on the star wars games.
How much time do they have like 3 years left?

There is something to also take into consideration here. Pulling together the staff to build a demo may have proven difficult in the current situation. It's impossible to build a demo and especially the crouch that is required for it. I guess we have to wait for things to get back to normal.
