I travel a lot so that's the appeal for me. PS5 gaming on the go. No issues so far.
I really should get a case but for now I just put it in my luggage where I know it won't get crushed.
But all my recent travel has been by car. If I were to go by plane I'd definitely suggest a case.
Love my Portal. Bring it with me when I travel and connect via wifi or my cell hotspot. Works perfectly. Didn't know what to expect but Sony did great with this device.
"I find it frustrating with doors not appearing where I would want them to be"
Yes, simple quality of life fixes for things like this. I kept unattaching and reattaching a module trying to get the door to move where I wanted it to. Also furniture having no rotation snap is frustrating for a perfectionist like me.
So there you have it, 75%. An absolute disservice to Series X owners who expect a next gen experience but now everything Xbox must revolve around a console that is less powerful than last gen's One X. And I don't blame Series S owners, I entirely blame MS. And to see Xbox go from the 360 era to this is depressing. The Xbox brand - now defined by an underpowered console and GamePass. What a fall.
Now that you mention it, it is kinda weird that there's no Star Trek style personal communicator. I always have to physically meet someone, can't just call them unless I'm hailing another ship.
Never thought about that.
Always make multiple manual saves for any game. Especially a new release. I remember Cyberpunk had a weird glitch where savegames became corrupt.
That said, I'm 50 hours in on Starfield and no issues so far.
And the PC meta is at 87.
To score in the 80's means it's a great game. Just look at Ghost of Tsushima. I would argue it's the best PS4 exclusive and is artistically stunning. Deserved more than an 83 tbh.
So yes, Starfield scoring 84/87 is in no way bad though I'm sure MS wanted it in the 90's.
Not sure why anyone takes the Metacritic user average seriously.
@MrNinosan
Fair enough, I get why you think that looking at my comment history. I have a PS5, One X, and PC. I haven't commented much about Playstation because I don't have much to say. It's a great console with great exclusives. And it's easily the platform I play the most going back to PS2.
I probably comment more on Xbox because I view them as underdogs. And I hated how MS ruined my dashboard, in case you couldn't tell. I just have ...
The amount of hate Starfield gets on here is ridiculous. And I say that as someone who primarily games on Playstation.
I got Starfield on Steam and absolutely love it. I've always wanted a proper space RPG. Freelancer is great but has no land combat. Mass Effect is great but has no space combat. Elite Dangerous is online only. NMS is good but too cartoony and lacks depth.
Is Starfield perfect? No. It could use more varied backgrounds for the space env...
You don't need to use menus to travel. Just point your ship at the planet/mission area and press E to select and then R to travel on PC.
I haven't upgraded to Series X because I have the CyberPunk One X which I love. But if MS put out a Starfield SX console I'd probably give it up. But for now, I'll just get Starfield on PC.
Or maybe many Xbox owners, like myself, are unhappy that all our home screen customization was replaced with ads.
This update is atrocious. They took away home screen customization and plastered ads where pins used to be. So I've set my Xbox in permanent offline mode to avoid it all, which also hammers home that I can only have two pins now. But at least no ads.
Thanks Phil. I didn't need my groups pinned. Thank you for replacing them with ads.
I used to scroll past the top on my One X cause of my groups I had pinned. Now it's almost entirely ads when I scroll down. And all the ad tiles are larger than the game tiles on top. Much of the UI design is based around ads now. If people wanted more background space, they could gave simply pushed the old design down.
@Stark
If I dont scroll down, yes. Then I don't see it. But I scroll down for my groups, of which I can only have two pinned. And there are still three ad tiles immediately upon booting up - Sponsored (Applebees? Really?), Gamepass, and something about Microsoft Rewards.
Edit: I'll note those three ad tiles were present on the old UI. But I disliked them there too. I had hoped they would be removed cause gamer feedback.
The Most Played Games section is one click down for me on my Xbox One X...
This update is terrible. I don't undestand how anyone can defend it. Ads everywhere. Unless I'm missing something? A setting to disable all this? And I can only pin two of my eight groups on the Home screen??? The rest is a Netflix style homepage.
I've played both and I have no idea what people say when they claim it's "incomplete". I've only noticed new things in comparison to DD1 (I would give a list but spoilers). Sometimes I wonder if some people actually played DD1 or maybe they remember it differently. Anyways, if you liked the first one and want more of that, you'll probably like DD2.
