I'd love if there was a way to add stranger's friend codes during the set up of or after a game with random people, I think friend codes are alright but they'd be much better if there was a way to automatically add them(on some games you can like when you trade with people on Pokémon).
I think if Nintendo did that and had better communication on their online service they'd be sorted.
Where was Sony's games this time last year? or the year before that?
Even though it seems Microsoft has a weaker line up this year it still has a stronger line up than the PS3 has had the last two years.
Plus the Wii probably has the best line up this year and it has the most sales.
May be Killzone 2 can be on the 360? People have been saying graphics have hardly improved in the last two years on the 360 and simply that's because they've been in development for two years at most not four at the minimum. of course if an MS took four years to develop a game of that supposed(because nothing I've saw has actually wowed me) quality it would take at least four years and then the 360 and PS3 are quite old by then.
Hmmm Nintendo made 3D games year ago, it was called the Virtual boy and it was horrendous but it was over ten years ago and was released when it was still in the design phase.
So before Sony tries to claim they're doing some new just remember that yet again Nintendo did it first.
EDIT: I thought it was Phillips that made the CD-i games?
Well yes but compared to the 360 the PS3 is arcane, and from what I heard it was meant for PS3/360 initially with a release on the PC later. And they have perfectly good reasons for all the games that have been on the 360 then.
And I wasn't saying they were bad, they were great but many of Square's games get criticised and have underwhelming sales which is why they don't continue them is what I'm saying.
The World Ends With You has an average of 89, so one off, but a...
Agreed. The fans aren't supporting their new projects and many of their remakes have extra content or are first time releases in certain areas such as FF III, IV, Chrono Trigger, DQIV, DQV, DVI and FFT: WOTL. They're actually releasing the games that they feel a third of their fanbase(Europe, who they seem to really like at the moment) missed out on.
and the series they have are:
Final Fantasy
Dragon Quest
SaGa
Mana
Kingdom Hearts
Star Ocean(mi...
Well Star Ocean being on the 360 is Tri-Aces decision I believe because they seem to be more pally with Microsoft nowadays(same reason Infinite Undiscovery is a 360 exclusive).
The Last Remnant was meant for both 360 and PS3 at once but the PS3 is totally arcane compared to the 360, I think they just can't be bothered now after all the flak they got for the 360 version.
And there's plenty of game that aren't FFs or Kingdom Hearts or Dragonquests, they're just not as ...
I think it's mostly the cool-to-hate attitude and opinion that people have about them that's hindering them. The Last Remnant did work, it was about as Mass Effect but because it was made by Square Enix is was marked down and it was also marked down because it wasn't Final Fantasy.
People also say that now that they're on 13 they should stop the series and do something new but whenever they do people complain about lack of work on Final Fantasy.
I for one have bought...
I think it will never be a significant presence in the gaming market but it's equvalent to flash games, they have no real effect on PC gaming but they are an enjoyable form of games.
I've some my friends playing games on the ipod touch(which is an iphone minus the phone I think) and it just looks unwieldy and frustrating and it seems they were trying to capitalise on Nintendo's success with the touch screen(DS) and accelorometer(Motion control like the Wii).
I agree with you, the Wii does have a good selection of excellent, challenging titles that seem to be ignored and then people complain about a lack of the titles.
I recently did a blog about why so many "hardcore" gamers hate the Wii, and I'm what the etiquette is about self-promotion here but I think it is worth a read.(damn that is shameless self-promotion.)
Mario Kart has always had handicaps because it makes it possible for someone in fourth place to ac...
Nice post but I do disagree and whilst you mentioned FFVII a few of the cliches you were talking about aren't in there(but have been in other FFs).
DQ though, I don't think it can be too cliche, because the whole point in it is a traditional RPG, it's kept to it's roots and the fans love that. I think too many JRPGs are trying to be like WRPGs(look at FFXII) and it doesn't work because people expect different things and different influences.
I also don't see why they...
I do agree with what you're saying, the game is horrible and is not a very good example of gamers and stuff but GTA is aimed at teenage boys or younger, it's made for immature kids who still think it's cool to pretend you're "gangsta".
You could say this is like an interactive movie, have you ever heard of M? It's a great film, the main character(and protagonist) is a child murderer and is implied to be a child rapist.
Now I don't agree with the game but maybe banning is unfair, as the example used above WWII games, you're never the Nazi's because if we were they'd be shown as sympathetic and then it'd be wrong to kill them mercilessly.
I'm glad that there are consequences in game apparently, becau...
They were designing a CD add-on for the SNES and the deal fell through because Nintendo weren't willing to give them 100% profit on it.
They stole the design for the SNES pad and Analog sticks(but then so did every one else), I think they may have stole rumble too and more recently they stole the motion control idea. Microsoft stole Miis and made them Avatars too.
So whilst Nintendo may have declined in quality it seems they're still top dog when it comes to ideas as...
Yes but it also means a mandatory install that takes several minutes due to slow read speeds. I'd rather change the disc at four points in the game(which takes about 10 seconds each) than sit through a lengthy install.
I've heard a theory that Microsoft may go to more memory stick/external harddrive style games, which I think could work, especially considering Memory sticks can go above the storage of blu-ray(I believe there is one for the PS3). I think this would avoid giving Sony royalties and still have large storage without requiring the userbase to have internet access.
I respectfully disagree, because using your logic that it has better graphics and technology is better means that all new games are superior to old games, would you say Haze is better than Doom?
Or it's the equivalent to saying all classic movies are rubbish because they don't have fancy special effects.
I assume you just don't like Nintendo because that's who would be hurt by this logic? It'd mean every Wii and DS game would get crap ratings because of their graphic...
Nintendo didn't nearly kill the industry? Sony took some of Nintendo's design and used their own CD technology to build a more efficient console than the N64, they stole Nintendo's designs and fan base.
I'd say the only good thing Sony did for the industry was introduced CD technology into the mainstream, something they're trying to improve on with Blu-ray but Blu-ray whilst beneficial, doesn't have the same degree of improvement to make it a necessity.
EDIT: You kn...
I personally think they should have accepted the big by Square Enix. I think it would've helped them more than merging with Koei.
I kind of agree, banning that name is idiotic when pretty much every online game you go on is populated with 12 year olds who speak how they think "gangstas" speak.
