I agree that it is nothing revolutionary, but that doesn't detract from the fun.
I bought the preorder on PSN about 12 hours before the game became available to play. I got the Iron Spider suit for that.
Clickbait has become one of those terms that no longer has meaning because it's used too frequently to describe things that it doesn't actually apply to. EVERY headline is supposed to grab your attention and make you click on it. That's the purpose of a headline. That's how they sold newspapers. With attention-grabbing headlines so people would want to see what was inside.
I don't spend a lot of time playing old games. There is so much NEW and awesome stuff coming out of the pipeline that it's hard to stay caught up with it. I don't have to time to retread old ground again and again.
Oh man, this is something we should have gotten VERY early on. It's not like PS fans haven't been asking to do away with that awful vertical search for years now. That's the main reason i'm not excited about this. I feel like I should be like "Okay, that's great. What are the features we should be actually excited about?"

Pick it up on PC and use a DS4.

The controls with a DS4 are great. Don't try to use the Move controllers, that's where it sucks. Also it's not up to Sony to release a "proper version'. That would be up to Bethesda.
"Killing it" doesn't mean porting years old games over to Xbox from PC. It may seem that way to a platform starved of games, but trust me, it isn't. And since Microsoft and Sony both have PC crossplay with games, portinga game over to Xbox from PC doesn't mean the game is exclusive. It's on PC as well. PC is a competing platform. If a game is on more than a single platform, it's not exclusive.

My feelings on the matter have not changed since the nude Lara Croft from Tomb Raider 1.... Who the hell cares about naked video game chicks when there is an internet full of REAL naked women that cosplay as the videogame chicks.
A headline like that just shows how little has been actually considered by the author. Licensing deals, publishing deals, hardware manufacturing. This isn't taking anyone by surprise. There is no room in the market for a fourth console. Especially one that is likely to just push Google's online services. Besides, you know what really drives up the cost of development? When a dev has to develop a single game for FOUR consoles. I'm not interested in $70 games thank you very much.
