I realize this headline is absurd, but I am a bit scared that resources will continue to be used on polishing up old games in the future if TLoU is a huge financial hit.

The better that game does, the worse off we all are.

Have you seen TITANFALL!!!???

Mario Auditore's name being Mario is an Easter egg?

Who knew? Its not like there are millions of Italians named Mario or anything.

I wanted to like that game so badly, but it seriously sucked.

Fans root for their console of choice to sell more so that its install base is larger and gets more and better developer support.

Its not as fanatically blind as many think. A given consoles success or lack thereof, or more precisely a dominance in the marketplace, will dictate its immediate and long term future.

The console which squeaks the most will receive the most oil.

That, and because Xbox 360 fanatics were so unbelievably obnoxious l...

You're totally wrong.

The truth is that if MS released everywhere PS4 did, it would have sold LESS.

This is because their same supply would have been spread around to places where it doesn't sell well to begin with.

Don't you guys get it? If MS manufactures 5 million consoles and sends them to 13 markets, how exactly does sending them to 30 more markets magically create more manufactured units?

I can smell the ...

I wouldn't call Kinect a failure, as 4 million users are using it.

It is however an anchor which will hold the One back from its full sales potential. When you have an intrusive, mandated peripheral which increases the console's cost by $100.00, then you're essentially driving many customers away. Lets face it, most gamers don't even game in the living room. They game in their personal room (which tends to be smaller). MS wanted to change that with Xbox On...

Robot COD is already played out.

PS just has the better games.

Yes, just like PS3 was more popular than 360 due to being cheaper.......??//

Absolutely. I would leave it clocked where it is. Ramping it up even slightly could be disastrous.

Maybe 2nd and 3rd Gen chips can be successful overclocked a bit, but that does nothing for launch owners.

Your ignorance is just as alarming.

You honestly think that launching in less countries means less machines available?

No it doesn't. Both companies manufacture as many as they can. Thing is, MS put their whole stock where they sell the most. They didn't sell as much as PS4 did. PS4 was able to spread their supply thin, around the globe, sell out and then re-supply and STILL sold more in the US.

So just stop with the territory arg...

You'd be correct, but your argument assumes that MS manufactured 3x less the amount of units because they launched in less countries.

That is not the case. SONY spread their supply out and sold out everywhere. MS planned on giant demand in their strongholds and demand was not there.

They both manufactured about the same amount and only one has continually sold it through.

Do you see why the territorial argument is nit valid now? You ca...

"Also, in many countries PS4 is the only option they've got because the Xbox ONE hasn't released in those countries yet."

Yes, making the fewer markets that MS has launched in, as having a very healthy supply of units. They flooded their markets and they're not selling out. 5 million don't sell through in their strongest territories, how will those 5 sell if they were sent to where ppl don't play Xbox?

4454d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Xgamer,

What do you think, that MS manufactured less consoles because they launched in less territories?

I'll give you a hint. They didn't. They manufactured x number of machines and it doesn't matter if they put all X in one territory or split up x into 60 territories.

Here's where it gets really simple. PS4 sells out all of its X, and then re supplies as fast as they can. MS does not because the stores are full of their ...

Blazing angels with SIXAXIS was sick!

Actually one of my favorite gaming experiences. Aside from that there was nothing else, but flying through that ice cave, fighting enemies and using the sixaxis was really awesome.

Frigid,

Look at it this way.

PS4 and Xbox One are being sold in the same territories. In all of the territories they currently share, PS is winning.

Again,
PS4 is outselling Xbone in every single territory. Shared or not.

It matters not if Xbone expands to more territories since it is losing everywhere. Wherever Xbone will sell, PS4 will sell more.

There is no escaping the data.

The controller light is a real issue. It reduces battery life tenfold.

That's not exactly nitpicky.
There should be an option to turn it off. A battery saver option under "adjust devices".

MS disgusts me. We gamers need MS like we need a bag on our hip.

Stop with the "oh we need MS to do well too", crap.

No we don't. They make gaming more expensive while giving less, and their sheep gladly accept it. We don't need MS to do well.
