Woww it pisses me off that she didn't play the gears games, she basically doesn't know what the universe is like in a game. She knows what it's like in the book, but storytelling is a lot different in games. Not that the story in gears 3 was bad, but even i could've come up with a few more interesting twists to make it better. Sometimes developers need to stop relying on bookwriters to write game stories, and just use their own imagination.

Actually that's not true at all. Microsoft may have increased focus on COD, but that's only because it's another popular game on their console so why shouldn't they capitalize on that?
It has not shifted any focus off halo because let's be realistic, after halo 3, they had odst released, then reach, and now anniversary, and all you have to do is look at the marketing for halo reach to realize how huge the franchise is to them.

well uncharted is a one time play, for me at least. It's amazing the first time but nothing ever changes the second time so i'm not going to be playing it again since i finished it already.
And multiplayer isn't that appealing.

I for some reason hated the ps2, it had some hugely popular games but in the shooters departement xbox was insanely ahead.
Besides halo and xbox live, it ruled the FPS genre and the hardcore market with games like half life 2, doom 3, farcry, republic commando, etc. specially cuz of the tight analog sticks.
