No but you can make your own damn map from nothing, add whatever you want to it, make an unlimited amount of gametypes (including your favorite maps and gametypes from other games), share them with the world, you can replay matches in theatre and screenshot from any angle you like, create machinima videos........................ .........
You have an amazing campaign with an amazing story spanning across books, videos, comics, etc. 4 player co-op in sandbox environments, plus a 4 play...
I don't understand your thinking. Why would they need to prove anything? They're brilliant at making fps games and their their storytelling shines in the sci-fi genre. That's where their passion lies and it has nothing to do with being a one trick pony. Why in the heavens would they commit to a 10 year franchise experimenting in a different genre that they don't have as much interest in, just so they can "prove" they can do it?
Seriously listen to yo...
lol i love how your "destiny plays better on ps4" claim totally exposes the rest of your comment.
I would have to totally disagree on halo story. No way in hell is it yawn, it's one of the best and deepest stories in gaming. There's a reason it has books, comics, videos, web series, and all this lore.
It's great that you love online, but story matters in all genres, and that's what makes halo so special to me. Not onlyy does it have great online, but such an amazing story and music.
It probably true that it's not popular. Its an amazing game, i'm playing it now, but i don't think it quite made it there in popularity. Also, it's been almost a year since it came out, new consoles are coming, sales are everywhere, maybe it just happened to be the licky pick.
Your concerns may be valid, but i'm personally glad it went from a kinect 360 game to a controller based nex-gen game. I was expecting an on rails motion-based kinect crap. No matter how you look at it, it's a lot better than what was first expected so i give it credit for that.
And we really haven't seen or heard much about it other than that e3 demo so maybe there'a a lot of things you aren't considering. I've heard it'll have PvP gladiator battl...

lolwat, that doesn't mean anything. MAG was a pretty bad game, having 256 didn't make it much better or worth the price. I'm not justifying Titanfall's price here but what you said was just dumb.
wtf
Yes and that's for story, survival horror, third person, and cinematic reasons. Halo has a different scope, and being a sandbox FPS, going the linear route would be a step backwards.
It would be the best if they combined linear shooting elements in certain areas with cinematic events, with full blown open world battles. I wouldn't want one huge world to roam around in, I want each level to have it's own snadbox.
well sucks for you then. I love the mechanics, wayy better, more fun, and more tactical than iron sight controls.
Then i guess it really depends on what you consider innovative. Guild wars is a PC game and it's not a shooter. Bungie may have used the same ideas but incorporating it in a console FPS is something "fresh". Innovative doesn't have to mean something absolutely brand new has to be done, like going from 2d to 3d, but it's often the re-usage of ideas under a different light that keeps things innovative.
And you're right about them taking old ideas and ...
Innovative doesn't have to mean they show something "never seen before". The real innovation has only been mentioned in articles and hasn't been shown yet so i agree partly that this particular video didn't show something brand new never seen.
However, i feel that the seamless transition from a linear small co-op battle to a giant public event with so many players was pretty amazing. Instead of load screen they had a set-piece and players came out of no...
Nothing innovative at all? DO you even know what kind of game this is?
lmaoooooo
Only idiots play it like call of duty. If people enjoyed it like i do, it would be a lot more appreciated. I could use stealth whenever I like, it made me feel like a hunter, armor abilities were awesome to balance with, and the gameplay actually made me choose how i wanted to play.
I'll admit the approach of Crysis 1 was the best because it was open world, but as standalone games, crysis 2 and 3 were a lot less linear then COD and Battlefield 3.
That's not what he meant i don't think. We all knew a new halo was likely gonna be announced, but the way the trailer was made was unexpected. I thought it was some rpg game, but then i noticed his arm, and then boom his helmet, and i was like "holy shit".
I loved it because it was very different approach for a halo trailer. People complaining about the poncho are idiots because it wasn't an actual game trailer. It was just a teaser to get us hyped for n...
yes but it can still get dirty!
lol pretty epic
I don't think they were fully scripted quicktime events. They looked like finishers similar to assassin's creed. There was some free roaming and regular combo attacks.
I think people are really misleading themselves. Firstly, it's an-up close visceral game, not a button mashing combo fest. Secondly, i'm sure they chose the most linear footage of the game to show off the graphics and presentation. And lastly, it was a damned kinect game at announcement, we sho...
Waitt you wanna buy the DLC for the armor and not the maps? I don't understand that, armor looks cool and all but i've never agreed with paying real money for skins and cosmetic crap in any game. Maps actually affect the gameplay experience so that i can understand.
But i guess whatever works for works for you.
