Sure, and I can agree or disagree with it how I like.
But usually there should be some kind of research into the demographics, the marketing, the hype, and general popular opinion for these, if they want to publish it for the public.
I mean my most anticipated game could be a random mobile game, but I'm not gonna throw it on a list to my audience as TOP ANTICIPATED GAME, if I was the author.

Then you really need to play the game to fully understand why it was judged the way it was. Critically it was judged too harshly because the gameplay is brilliant. But the complaints against it were all valid.
A game can me hugely popular and still be criticized, actually it's an amazing game which is exactly why it was criticized so much. It did so much right then was just cut short for corrupt industry practices.

The magic halo has really unbelievable. Amazing gameplay, amazing story, amazing, music, amazing multiplayer, its crazy how many things they got right in one package.
This 9 year old game is still one of the best tps games made.
The multiplayer is easily king of tps shooters. Few games are in the same league.

There's never been matchmaking for Campaign co-op other than Halo reach, so they're not really removing it.
