umm MW3 wasn't hyped at all in fact it was barely hyped until the few days running up to release.
BF3 though was hyped to the moon. they proclaimed it to be the CoD killer yet i have had more fun playing homefront than BF3.
at least with MW3 i knew what i was going to get whereas BF3 was just adding more under delivering promises.
that said i have traded both MW3 and BF3 because they both suck and have gone back to real games such as Unc...
you know its a crap year for games when a puzzle game wins GOTY.

Very big thats for sure. Just to put this in perspective Activision is now worth more money than the entire Sony corporation. thats is scary right there. and it is bigger than Halo.
Halo average sales - around 7-10 million per game
CoD average sales - around 25-30 million per game
Activision is very clever for making it multiplat as they don't limit their sales to one console heck even Wii has CoD.

personaly i have played Alan Wake and its definitely an interesting type of game but not as good as the hype suggested.
the game is very repetitive. shoot with flashlight, reload, watch cutscene then rinse and repeat.

I don't think Rockstar needs to take notes from anyone. With over 100 million sales for the GTA series they are in a different league.

but who still plays killzone 2 ? i tried finding a game a few months ago and there wasn't a single match available. so its pretty much pointless now. i'm sure a few are still playing killzone 3 though which is probably why they chose that instead of 2. its the latest one.
personaly i think the 60GB PS3 is the only console a gamer needs. you have 3 gens of games to choose and play and just having a PS2 built in just makes it worth the money alone as the PS2 pretty much has the best games ever made then you can play the very best PS3 games and exclusives and also some retro PS1 games such as GTA1 and MGS1.
tell me another console were you can play Vice City and Uncharted 3 in the same console ?
