Respect.
Agree on all counts. Especially appreciate that they the PC version some extra love.
"crime ridden Tokyo"? Umm, wrong country.
This turned out to be one of the best gaming surprises for me. I had no interest in it at first and kept confusing it with Watch Dogs. I was hesitant to preorder after the Rage hype, but it has turned out to be one of my all-time favorites.
Agree with this review, aside from the graphics assessment. The graphics, on the PC version, at least, are great, especially with the free hi-res texture DLC. I imagine the gameplay on consoles is pretty equivalent, if using a game pad on the PC.
Yes, please. Where do I preorder?
Ditto.
Supposedly improved with the patch, but I'm enjoying it on the PC w/a 360 controller.
Not everyone has to love it, of course, but, if you like this type, it is a great game. A 9 in my book.
Loving it. The games gets better as my skills do.
Don't get me wrong; I'm a PC gamer. It's just that when I choose to play on the big screen, it would be nice not to have to drag the keyboard, mouse, AND controller to the other room (unless I want to).
This is a great idea. Now, if only Windows 8 supported a 360 controller for navigating the Windows 8 and Windows 7 interfaces. Then I could just power on the PC and sit down on the couch with the controller, and it would be as convenient as a console.
Nice review. Matches my impressions of the game, and a deserving score.
I don't get it. I run Windows 8 and Steam all the time. I never use the app store and use the "Metro" UI primarily as a screensaver. As long as MS doesn't force ALL software through their store, I'm happy enough.
I LOVE Just Cause 2! Totally passed it over but picked it up during the Steam Summer Sale and was shocked by how good it is (other than the awful cut scenes). Loads of fun and one of my favorite games.
I think you're spot on, which is why I don't really want to support them. What seems to be a great title deserves better treatment.
Nice review and the experience I am hoping for!
I do not pirate games, and I wish others weren't giving PC gamers a bad name. I wanted to buy this game until I heard the details of what seems to be a pretty bad port. I really don't see how it is justifiable, given how Sleeping Dogs will release on all platforms the same day with PC-specific features, not to mention free a hi-res texture pack. If you want to be on a platform, do it right. PC gamers buy the PC version for a reason (more than one, actually).
I'm doing my part. Preordered with high hopes.
It's possible you gave up on it too soon. I thought it was good at first, but it kept getting better and better the more I played. Part of it was getting used to the controls and gameplay, part the developing story, and part the increase in skills. Now it's got me completely hooked.
