I agree it's not the toughest of the 3D Mario games, it's still not a breeze - and I had a blast. Might be my favorite Mario since the SNES.

Not keeping all the materials from a game would be unsurprising, even expected, in the 80s - but it's sort of mindblowing that Square didn't keep stuff from such a huge game post-16 bit era. With how much games had begun to cost and how long it took to make, why toss any of it or misplace it?
I love both, but my all-time favorites are turn-based (Chrono, FF 4/6/9, Lunar, Phantasy Star 2/3/4).
We can barely do online gaming without lag - how can we stream entire games AND do online MP? I'm not sure I'll even be alive to see the infrastructure upgraded to a point where that can be done with ease.
Souls games - not because they're bad/overrated, but so many people don't wanna be told they just suck at gaming or they're not real gamers.

I don't get why EA had Bioware make this game. It was setting them up to fail. If a baseball manager sent a backup catcher out to pitch Game 7 of the World Series, he'd be fired. EA had a studio best suited at making story-driven games make a loot box multiplayer shitshow.
