Exactly, tbh i always favored KOF over anything else, Kof 99 being my all time fav!!!
But let's be honest for a moment, nothing, not even close, is more iconic than SF when it comes to fighting games. Hell!!! the serie started way back in 87 and it's still alive and kicking'!!!!
Its longevity is quite telling!!!

Securing the most iconic fighting game, is certainly going to have a much more important impact on its console sales.
People can prefer Tekken, Kof, G gears or even KI, but none of these has the world wide recognition SF offers.

It's not the bluray integration that cost Sony so much, but the r&d and manufacturing of a new cpu. The r&d alone cost more than 400M.
It's the very reason, why all console makers are focusing on a proven all in one system (x86 architecture )or before it the ppc or arm family.
Add to that that the console comes up as a full package, if you add up the wifi, bluetooth etc...You will end up with...
Sure, but hell, you can find used ps2 systems for less than 20 bucks!!!
If you have the dvds, one should just stick with the original system.
If you have never played them games, then 15 bucks is nothing, to enjoy some of the best games ever made.
Sure, let's just pretend there gonna be games for everyone, for the sake of simplicity ;)

Let's be honest here, outside of two regions, which are NA and UK, the Xbone is totally ignored!!!
That's one of the main Ms problems, having world wide brand recognition and a variety of games that appeals to everyone.
And even in these two regions, the xbox brand is behind, as the advantages of last gen were negated.
So, the results here are, what they always were supposed to be, unless you are blinded by some fanatics logic.

There's no such a thing as poor decisions here, Nintendo has done it, N64 case, Apple,Ms, and thousands of other companies, now that Sony is doing it, it's a poor decision...lol!!!

Two things to keep in mind :
1- If the 18M sold for the xbone are true, then most of the xbox brand sales are from 2 countries ( 13.5 M in NA and UK combined )
2- Which will mean that Ms has to focus on these two marketing wise, but there's a drawback to this...Being to Murica focused makes the xbone less attractive world wide and that's Ms biggest problem!!! ...

No doubt about it, it may even get worse WW.
The only place where the xbone is able to fight back now is Murica, and that is its big problem!!! Focusing heavily on its main market weakens even more the tiny WW allure it may have.

That's what matter to customers and they tell it by their wallet.

If you think that your opinion is more of an acceptable metric than
1- numbers of games
2- their global perception aka metascore
3- global sales aka console global perception
Now you have your opinion and i'm ok with it...But it's nowhere near to the global trend.

I'd love it, R&D has done a hell of a job with this title.
Even if TO1886 had its flaws, its nowhere near as bad as some want you to believe.
