That's always been the case for most Witcher games. In Witcher 2, it would run at a buttery smooth 60fps during gameplay at max, but during cutscenes the fps would drop to 40. I guess they use high quality assets during the cutscenes and scale it back during gameplay (similar to most games). But I doubt the drop from 30fps would be that much. Here's hoping the patch fixes the issues.

Yeah I was hoping to get good speeds with Galaxy, but since it's still in beta, and the fact everyone and their mother is pre-loading TW3, I can give it the benefit of the doubt. The speeds started off fine, but then plummeted. Manual download took exactly an hour; ~6MB/s. Anyways, it's all installed now...7 more days!
Or an apocalypse mode, where it's literally starts to rain fire!
I agree. In fact, I found Witcher 2 more difficult than Dark Souls 2!
Tried downloading through GOG Galaxy, seems like it'll take a month through that. Switched to manual and it says an hour. Sweet.

In terms of framerate, I'm surprised the consoles held up so well. On my rig (GTX 770, i7-2600k, 8GB), on high settings the framerate plummets to under 30 when it's raining. But when it's sunny and with a few cars, I can crank it all the way up and get 80+ fps. So looks like to maintain a solid 60 in every scenario at 1080p, at least a GTX 970 (perhaps even a 980) is needed.
The thing with Watch Dogs is; "it was good, but not quite Carling".
Looks fine to me. Other than some shadow fade ins (which was prevalent in the PS4 gameplay as well), it's looks good. So I wonder why CD Projekt Red haven't shown any official footage for the X1 yet, given their marketing deal with Microsoft. I mean, they could've just shown a couple of minutes of the intro and that would've been enough.
Perhaps the X1 version has some deeper issues? Or perhaps they're intentionally creating this controversy (aka trolling...
Personally, I would love if they made a KOTOR game as a real time action RPG like The Witcher series, or Elder Scrolls, instead of FF type combat. It's a personal preference, but I think it would make the game ever better.
Each to their own. I've played both DC and FH2 extensively, and while I think both are fun in their own way, I enjoy DC more. But others, such as yourself, prefer FH2. So it all depends on the individual.

Honestly, I was expecting it cost the same as a flagship mobile phone; ~£500.
Well, my GTX 770 should do okay on high settings at 1080p. Guess I gotta live with that :/
