What do you mean by "a year"? The duration the game has been released for? Or the Mount of time DICE had to develop the game? Because neither is true, since the from there release of bf3 to bf4 there was a 2 year gap.
Did Gamereactor UK really asked if the game would run at 60fps on PC? *Facepalm*
Man...how little they know of PC gaming...
PC games usually don't have a framerate limit (some have limits up in the 400 fps region). One exception is NFS Rivals, which ran at a locked 30fps even on PC (although it can be fixed to run at 60fps).
NOBODY expects the Dragon Inquisition!
Haha fair enough. Thanks for that link, makes life a bit easier now :)
Raider, have you purchased your WD copy for PC already?I've found it for £20.99 (extra 5% discount if you like their fb page) on cdkeys.com if you're interested.

I've been a console gamer for most of my life, but recently (in the past year and a half) have taken to PC gaming. Trust me when I say this, it is worth it. It's NOT time consuming, nor is it expensive. I got my PS4 with a game on launch for £400. In the UK, for roughly £500, you can build a PC that's more or less twice as powerful as a ps4. With Steam, game installations are now a breeze, and applications like Nivdia's Geforce Experience makes optimising game settin...
@starchild I too have played AC:BF on PC, which also has a 770 for a GPU. Perhaps the term mediocre was a bit exaggerated, but you seriously don't believe that AC:BF is among the top 5 best graphics on PC, do you? Crysis 1,2 and 3, BF3 and 4, Metro: LL, The Witcher 2, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, etc, all looked better than AC:BF, imo. But I guess it's all down to preference. I for one thought that even though some parts of AC:BF looked fantastic, some parts looked arguably last gen.
As much as I enjoyed the open seas of ACBF, and the water on the next gen and PC versions was amazing, the overall graphics of the game was pretty mediocre, when compared to the likes of Watch_Dogs. AC Unity should be good though in the graphics department.
I for one am looking forward to DX-12, not because of the Xbox One, but more so for PC. Yes AMD's Mantle has shown increased performance when compared to DX11 on certain games, but since it's limited to AMD cards, it can be a deal breaker for some. DX12 will be universal, and all cards will be able to benefit from its features. Hopefully, GPUs out now will still be able to run games at decent settings and framerates about a couple of years from now thanks to the "closer to the me...
Well, the phrase "closer to the metal" has been used for a long time now. Usually used when referring to games development for consoles, and recently with AMD's Mantle API. So although it's sort of a "buzzword" or a "buzz-phrase", it's quite well known and gets the point across easily.
If and when it does come out, I'd be really conflicted on whether to get it on ps4 or PC. Most of my friends are on console, but...dem mods for PC....damn!
Guess I'll make an on-the-spot decision...
Nice. Drop me a link when you're done with it. I'd love to check it out :)
People will still buy BF5 even though BF4 has all these problems. Why? Same reason why people buy a CoD game every year, even though it's more or less the same game as the one from the previous year. Fans and fanboys will always support their game to their deathbeds.
I thought Crysis 2 had a really awesome soundtrack. The main theme still sends a shiver down my spine.
A 7790...What settings do you play BF4 on? Because specs wise the PS4's GPU is more powerful than the 7790. But of course there are other factors such as the ps4 version is locked around 60fps, and is limited to 900p. Maybe you play at a lower framerate and at 1080p, hence why your's looks better?
Isn't TXAA easier to run than MSAA? That's what I found on Crysis 3.
Damn...talk about a hostile crowd. I wasn't actually trying to be reasonable with the comment, hence the "/rant". There are already many games out now that can't be maxed with a 770 at 60fps e.g. Metro Last Light, Crysis 3, Far cry 3, etc. All of those games were graphical powerhouses, and Watch_Dogs will be no different. If and when I do get it for PC (already have it preordered for ps4), I'll probably just turn down AA completely to make it work. I would like to apolog...
What?! A GTX 780 required for Ultra? Are you fracking kidding me?! So my 770's a waste then?! I knew the 560ti for the recommended requirement was a load of bull...Damn...I call unoptimised!
/rant
Actually, SC can be played perfectly with a controller, according to Chris Roberts anyways. In fact, it's the best way to play it if you don't have a joystick, since flying ships don't work too well with MnKb. With DayZ, I agree; as of now, it's near impossible to play with a controller, but you never know...when they bring out the console port they might amaze us. I can't wait for the DFM to get released to the general public...I'm kinda tired of the hangar module now...
Sure...
