This IS a sequel, at least in every way possible except the story.
The MP in this game is meant to build upon what their previous game Frontlines: Fuel of War started.
Its a crying shame that the story was advertised as the main appeal of this game because really, its the MP, and always will be with these games. 32 players on console versus BC's 24, something they don't cite when referring to graphics. Gratuitous use of choppers and vehicles. Fun. Can...
"The PS3 is still far and away better than anything else that’s ever been made... except MAYBE the 360," Carmack says in the new issue of games™. "It’s a great time to be a developer," he added.
What a completely positive and normal answer, but I guess "maybe" doesn't start flame wars?
"Despite dropping such a bombshell, Carmack added that his favouritism wasn't to the detriment of the PS3. “Because I do favour the ...
to be fair, how many people are shot in NY/Chicago/Detroit/LA every week and nobody ever decides to delay FPS or GTA clones...
Its the nature(no pun intended...) of the beast. As long as video games(and media in general) have fun portraying would-be horrible things, there will be something to point at and go "that's too controversial to release now, edit it out or delay it." Not one example comes to mind, where editing something out was really "making a difference&q...
Totally. Half of the portal 1 "story" was a tutorial, by the time I felt like I was solving puzzles on my own, the game's story content was almost over.
double
Sorry but the current budgets of even indie games means the entry level threshold must still be lowered for it to qualify as art. Yes some games are artful, but if the medium is locked off to those with corporate backing and publishers, I can't consider it art. Show me one game that did not receive corporate sponsorship, publishing or some sort of award from a private indie-games comitee before the public regarded it as "art"
If you lube the pineapple next time, it may not make you so god damn BUTTHURT.
Next time I need a wet blanket, I know who to get it from.
To these half-witted defense articles of very-easy modes and auto-pilot, etc:
Remember Super Mario Bros.?
By your noob standards of difficulty it would be considered
"HARDCORE MODE: UNFAIR EDITION"
"omg what u get 1-shot killed wtf, why do i have to PICK UP the mushroom, why can't i just be more powerful without doing anything, and why do I have 2 run before flying wit da raccoooon suit i shud just b able to go str...
lol the irony of your response amazes me.
needlessly jaded gamer says what?
glad I haven't bought any new shooters yet. As great as killzone is, this is RIGHT up my alley, and I only have time to get good at one of them, hopefully socom proves itself worthy. Can't wait for some real tactical shooter action, as I have been let down by the lack of presence of the genre on console
well written???!
"Bulletstorm is all about kill with skill. Sure, you can play the game boringly like how you would play any other shooter. But you will miss what makes Bulletstorm a unique and enjoyable shooter. Also, you won’t be rewarded with points if you do so"
There are so many things wrong with this...
Flame me and say "well its still a good review", that's for you to decide, but it's definitely not "we...
lets assume the fanbase appreciates the base gameplay enough to never stop buying it
what happens when the "rock band" shows up to their "guitar hero"? Something that is almost identical in appeal but feels better/offers more in almost every way?
Enter Respawn Entertainment...
hate for BLACK OPS, WaW, and MW2 if any
nobody hates MW1, because it hasn't been improved upon yet, four years later. Just bastardized expansion packs one after another. Four years. Think about that. Four years is a long time to rehash the same thing without actually improving anything.
I just wish they would have released endless map packs and weapon expansions for MW1 instead.
that's kind of naive don't you think? How many games that were "stopped" ever came back? How many of those that did, came back within the decade, and as a finished product that was worth the wait?
meanwhile assassin's creed 10 is crapped out years in advance
GOTY 2010 imo.
I didn't put time into any other game more than LoL last year. Riot Games deserves great success and bigger budgets. They have something special that other companies just don't.
one of the reasons they stand above every other F2P model is clear:
"... many of the top players in our game still have not spent any money on League of Legends.... Part of what fuels that is that we don't sell power in League of Legends" ...
maybe people are getting tired of the same linear bullshit that they keep shoving down our throats via games that have good things going for them.
Everyone's forgot about pacing and exploration. You don't need to be an RPG to have small amounts of exploration. DOOM, which the article mentions, was not linear in the slightest. There was one goal, but you weren't just shooting people to get there. Linear campaigns sucked back in 99, and they suck now.
If you game on a PC, chances are very high that you know how to pirate a game.
EVEN IF it's just one step more to do it on a console, the vast majority of console gamers will have no clue how to do it. We can't just refer to the gamers who are tech savvy if talking about the console market, because the only reason consoles got as huge of a market as it is, is because people who AREN'T tech savvy can plug-and-play.
There's some serious cognit...
There needs to be an up-scaled version of the DS3 for people without midget hands
Still waiting...
