well in that perspective it was changed which what sony did for your friend was the same they did for me. what happened was the PSN ID that was linked to my account was changed. meaning all finances in my wallet and owned downloads remained in my download list/wallet. just the actual ID linked to the financial portion of the account was changed. my friends list did not carry over and nor does your trophies. pretty much you start from scratch but hold all virtual content that you have purchase...
