that console free approach doesnt roll with me. i like physical devices as opposed to virtual devices. i always buy physical copies to begin with over the downloaded versions. i can imagine how it would be with a virtual console. next gen will be interesting if sony goes virtual and microsoft releases a physical console. i understand virtual/cloud is the future based off of where things seem to be going in general but im an old school individual. i dont even have a smartphone :P

more than likely. they did a phenomenal job with killzone mercenary and i personally think its hard to believe a “high profile, multi-million selling franchise” would be a different ip considering GG:C already launched one killzone game and being a branch of its original founders
one problem, launch day is feb 20th. most goty awarded games come out in the fall because hype and excitement is still strong. at that point the order would have come out 8 months prior. even if the order is the best game of the year it would have been somewhat 'forgotten' about and what would be on peoples minds is something more recent

no, the ps4 HASNT won this generation. there is still another 5 strong years ahead which is plenty of time for things to change. if the console war ended right now i would say otherwise but its not. if you look where the ps3 was a year after launch compared to where it is now proves such turnarounds can happen
