You need to pick a faction and buy and equip the factions class item. From there complete bounties, patrols and PVP to level up your rank in the faction. You can then used crucible marks earned in PVP to buy Legendary items from that specific faction. You can do this with any and all factions and they all sell different gear, so you're not just locked into one.

I don't see why it matters to you that it matters to him.
"Horrible yet fun game" What are you even saying? The whole purpose of games is to have fun. My definition of a successful game is the fun factor. Hey do me a favor, when you pull your head out your butt, let me know if it makes a pop sound.
Considering getting Destiny? Then make your own informed desicion and don't worry about what others think is "best".
I rate your review 0/10. Please find something else to do with your life, you clearly don't know gaming.
If you enjoy a pure FPS shooter experience (which many people do) then you'll enjoy the game. Bungie described it many time as a "Shared World FPS". Which is exactly what it is. They never mislead anyone and delivered the game they said it was going to be. But if that's not your thing, no big deal. Millions of us are having fun with or without you dude. Later!
The grinding to rank up after level 20 is super hard core. Not a single person in the world (including the devs) have reached rank 30. I believe there are only a handful of 29's in existence. You have to be pretty dedicated to excel at this game. That's hardly casual.
I tried telling people this yesterday on an article about Horizon the new GG IP. We have exactly 0 confirmed details and people were already announcing their love for the game and day 1 collectors edition purchase. As soon as I said to set realistic expectations and don't get overly hyped, I was the bad guy and a downer. Face it people this industry sells on hype and that train isn't going to stop moving. These people eat it up and as long as that continues nothing will change. SMH......
@PudgyBurrito How about I say whatever I feel like because its the truth. So you're okay with people crapping all over good games because they were over hyped, but you're not okay with someone trying to set realistic expectations to alleviate the hate from inflated expectations? Nice logic there pal. Try it somewhere else.
LMAO at disagrees. This industry will never change...
And here we go again, MS up to their same tricks...
Already??? We know virtually nothing about this game yet. Now I see why these companies start these hype trains, it works! Stay level headed bro.
I realize we all want a great game, but do we have to start the hype train before any of us know any concrete details? I'm personally doing my best go into these new games with a level head. I mean look at all the disappointment gamers have had this year due to being overly hyped. It's fun to read about new IP's especially, but we have to take it with a grain of salt.
Could be cool. I'm done getting hyped for games though. Hopefully it turns out great.
We get it, you people don't like Destiny. I still like it. Can we move on now?
It was marketed as a "Shared World Shooter", which is exactly what it is. Man, people really twist things to try and support their irrational hate for this game.
I think what this guy really wants to say is: "Look at me everyone, I'm going against mainstream gaming to! Am I cool now? Yeah, I'm a rebel!" This getting old already, get over it. I like the game, u mad bro?
Justification for what exactly? I mainly come on here to see the latest game announcements. Really bruh?
As long as consoles receive good exclusives, I'll be buying them.
