The problem is that the "fans" will buy the new Pokemon games no matter what.
If cutting over half of the total number of Pokemon, almost doubling the price, having less content than previous games, having a complete lack of polish across the board, no story, no post game, and the graphics of a Gamecube game doesn't stop people from buying the game, nothing will.

This article is right though, it doesn't need a new formula, it needs new developers.
Not surprising at all, the game is very easy.
Desperate to have an actually good Pokemon game? Definitely.
Desperate to add the HD models GameFreak ALREADY made but just chose not to include for no good reason? Absolutely.
Desperate to make the game actually worth $60? You bet.

I really don't see how someone could "not get" the criticisms of the game.
1. Costs almost double the price of the 3DS games, and has less content.

I've never defended Death Stranding, go ahead and look through all of my comments, but "boring" is subjective, meanwhile broken and less content for more money (Sword and Shield) are facts.
Honestly, this is so disappointing. At this point one of my favorite series of all time is going to remain below average forever.
THIS IS THE TOP GROSSING FRANCHISE OF ALL TIME, with the games being a MAJOR backbone to that franchise, if you can honestly tell me that these games look like the quality that they sell, you're lying to yourself, you have parts of the game LITERALLY looking like an N64 game, you have models and animations ripped STRAIGHT from the 3DS games ...

I definitely agree that this journalist is just trying to cash in on the controversy for clicks, because he is definitely way off with some of the things he's said. But he isn't wrong about the fact it should be delayed, not even a little bit, anyone who disagree's hasn't rationally or logically thought about this situation.
I think this point alone makes it worse than Madden, but add the fact Pokemon releases two SLIGHTLY different versions of the same game JUST because they know some of their fans are die hard enough to buy both versions kind of says it all..... scummy.
