Just bought it. Loved the demo so much I just had to have it. Didn't hurt that I had a good chunk of change in my PS wallet, either.
I love turn-based battles, always have. But in this current gen, it's not really going to attract new players to the genre. That's what I meant by that statement.
It depends. Certain aspects of a game - regardless of genre - need to adapt and change to the times while still retaining what makes the core experience unique to that particular genre. Turn-based battles have long gone by the wayside, and I think everyone is better for it. RPGs are probably the one genre besides FPSs that lack any real originality being produced. That's why people hated on FFXIII. It was linear as hell, but that's pretty unique for an RPG. And hey, you could venture ...
I agree with you. The only thing I will say is shorter games need to have better replay value to justify $60. Nevertheless, I wanna pay for quality, not quantity when it comes down to it.
Whatever game it is needs to adjust its length to get the most out of its aesthetic and design. For instance, a game that stays the same for the entire adventure, that's going to be better at <10 hours than at, say, 20+. Now, you have to consider more than money in terms of value for what you're paying. Would you rather have an epic experience of 10-20 hours or an okay, pretty good experience of 20-50+ hours? It all depends.
Compare it to movies. It costs $10-$20 ...
Limbo is $14.99. Hmm. Just played the trial and LOVED it, but is it worth that much money? I don't have PS+
I just read that. Hopefully the wait is fairly short (couple weeks). Would love to play these during the Summer. Never beat FFVI.
Once again no good PSOne Classics.
Where's FFV, FFVI, Parasite Eve 2, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross?
In terms of RPGs I'm more looking forward to FFXIII-2 and Mass Effect 3.
Exactly. His style is pretty damn awesome, but it lacks substance. Shinji Mikami helped with that here, but I felt it wasn't enough. Not a terrible game by any stretch, but it lacked that *it* that would have made it memorable and just overall fun to play. That was the thing. To ME, it wasn't any fun to play. Although I did enjoy the 2D side-scroller parts.
Go back to CoD, troll.
Brink.
I thought Shadows of the Damned was pretty bad, in my opinion. But then again, I should have known better since I don't like the whole Grindhouse, slasher film style. I also generally just dislike Suda51.
If Sony and Microsoft are teaming up, it has to be to combat hackers.
Because I was stating my opinion.
Oh, I'm not that close-minded. Because I'm not good at me means it's not a good game for ME. I would never make such rash generalizations about any game.
Speaking based off personal experience, I hated the demo. I don't understand the puzzle tower on the 2nd one, can't beat it. Plus, I'm not a big puzzle fan.
Sucks, I wanted to LOVE this game.
LOL no way it's that good of a game.
Spenok,
That's why I'm buying it again (probably today) and playing through it once I finish my current log which includes Dragon Age II, Alice: Madness Returns, The Sly Collection, Mortal Komabt, and whatever else I get today.
Been wanting to play through FFXIII for a while, anyway, without doing the damn grinding required for those trophies.
Good for you. I don't care how much one enjoys trophies, it shouldn't dictate what games you play. I love trophies, admittedly, but NOTHING stops me from playing classic games like MGS, FF, Chrono Trigger, any PS1-PS2 RPG really, and others.
Truthfully, if I've been getting trophies for a while, I find it refreshing to just go back and play a game that doesn't have trophies so you can do what you're supposed to do: ENJOY THE GAME!!
I alway...
