Psycho Mantis is dead. There is a B&B cahracter called Screaming Mantis, but the 'Mantis' name is as far as the similarities between the two go.

Two different games, two different platforms. Very little to no correlation between the two. They will both do fine.

Anyway, there's no denying that the 360 version has outsold the PS3 version thus far. However, it must also be noted that it hasn't been by a wide margin, a fact that MS itself has attested to. The PS3 run with this game has been impressive given its smaller NA fanbase.
