Why shouldn't we count on the multi-platform part? Last I checked, Epic is 3rd party and, as we all know, 3rd party exclusives are becoming a thing of the past.

Say what you want, you can't deny that they are currently managing their 1st-party studios better than MS does theirs. On the other hand, MS has opted to focus more on 3rd party development studios this time around. That is indisputable.
A 20 year old franchise =/= a better franchise.
Resistance and Motorstorm sold fairly well too and there are still many first-party franchises that are well-received critically. (Didn't press disagree btw)
They look... the same. Game doesn't interest me regardless. It does, however, bring rise to the interesting prospect of developing games with the PS3 as the lead platform. You get amazing results with no compromises.

GOTY status is not determined by a game's Metacritic or Gamerankings average. Face it, MGS4 has about as much of a chance as winning it from various sites/journalists as GTA4 does. For that token, games like LBP, Fallout 3 and Gears 2 have similar chances.
