It's all subjective. I have a friend who got the game and has been playing it all day and he said the story is...*meh*. He said the battle system, while fun sometimes, isn't something special. He didn't use the word mediocre, but the game doesn't wow him.
Hopefully it'll come out soon. I think Infinite discovery didn't get a very high score because of it's story. I think RPG's are losing their essence. The thing that made RPG's of lore so great. Titles like Xenogears, FF9, FF7, Wildarms, Suikoden, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, FF3, etc. had one thing in common; Yes they had unique battle systems, but the story is what capture the hearts of gamers.
