on the other hand......LAIR,RESISTANCE,R&am p;C,WARHAWK,The Agency,Socom all boast maps that make a game like gears look like it was played in a closet.
the only place where the 360 might look better is in soft shadowing but that is mainly to it's benefit from over 10 years of PC game development tools that already have sophisticated algorythms to handle anisotropic...
as a matter of fact the main purpose the RSX was designed for is to render a 1080p raster as fast as a 120 times a second. Cell does alll the heavy work, geometry,transforms,lighting,p hysics(collision calculations for example.
that the xeno brothers are using the same bus, that's right one has to wait for the other to do it's business before it can.
PS3 has dedicated bus for both the Cell and RSX, each device has it's own path to memory folks. THIS IS HUGE and will always trounce anything the 360 can throw at it.
not to mention that the PS3 has nine cores running @3.2GHZ EACH!!

what most dumb xbots don't realize is that the Cell+RSX comprise one HUGE unified rendering architecture. The numbers this is capable of make the xenos look like a Hyundai in need of a tune-up.
