Tomba on the PS1
Uh, yeah, I'm not biased in favor of either company. I just found it interesting in this particular article to read how the two companies' PR people speak.
It was a joke, lighten up. Panda was really excited for the game.
Can anyone else hear Pandamobile sobbing?
- paid for by Sony.
WoW is a good game. It's just really expensive.
Did you notice how MS's PR was talking about Sony, but Sony wasn't talking about MS?
@ingiomar
The Kinect conference was so shitty that I didn't blame Sony for bashing it. But this is a different issue. Sony can say that they're outselling the 360 worldwide, but they didn't.
Blitz, why are you making such a big deal out of how people abbreviate a game's name? I had no trouble understanding that he was talking about Gears of War 3. We're talking about shooters in this thread, not hack n' slash.
Can't Naughty Dog buy its way into independence if they wish? That's how Bungie did it.
Demon's Souls was frustrating. Getting killed and sent back to the beginning of the level with all the enemies respawned is the biggest slap in the face. And when you're climbing up towers and slip off the edge of a staircase to your death, that's even worse.
I once proposed that they would unlock the 8th SPU of the Cell, but the reason why it's been disabled is to ensure higher production yields because some CELL units come with one or two defective SPUs out of 8, so Sony disables an SPU from all fully functioning Cells so they can increase the amount of Cells they can use.
It means that some PS3 owners out there have consoles with a defective 8th SPU.
The PS3 was released in the 6th year of the PS2, not the seventh or eighth.
Lost Highway was a Lynch film, too. I watched that entire film, and while it had its moments, I was left feeling cheated by the nonsensical closure. It meant absolutely nothing. Lynch's films are wild geese chases that people think mean something, but they don't.
Exactly. So many bloggers started saying that he changed his mind, and he never did. He just said that he was not qualified to talk about it.
What do they mean by 3D Blu-Ray Player?
Read what I wrote under Halo3MLGPro's comment. Also, the PS3's world wide sales are trumping the 360s, so clinging on to numbers that don't tell the whole story is really pathetic. Sales don't matter, dude.
I'd be much happier if MS announced that they were buying studios.
Yeah, I'm sure it will make a damned bit of difference if the 360 overtakes the PS3 again. I'm sure Microsoft will be like, "Hey, this means we can finally get off our butts and start buying first party studios so we can actually focus on bringing new exclusive IPs to the Xbox."
Or maybe you shouldn't get super excited over how many units MS is pushing because it doesn't make a difference.
I agree that with PC gaming you have many different setups, but what I envision for upgradeable consoles is for there to be only two different setups: Graphics-Card A and Graphics-Card B.
@ PirateThom
You'll still be able to play every game made for the console with the base setup.
Developers won't have to concentrate on many different configurations, just two.
You're not forced to upgrade. The latest PC games will run on lower settings on older hardware.
Attach rate has nothing to due with consoles sold.
It means that the ratio of games sold to consoles sold is increasing. Gamers are buying more games.
Edit: And Darkride is here once again to spin things negatively. The 360 has had at worst a 1 to 2 percent year over year decline. Big fucking deal. The 360 continues to sell well despite being on the market for almost 5 years and having a low price point. The PS3 is selling better than ever because it...
