I hope this game gives people a little more faith in the Conduit.

If they don't, they will be quoted on this and laughed at. It's a tough position and I kind of feel bad for them; but that is only a minor emotion. I think they are talented they just haven't released "the" title that gives them some credit. It's kind of like retro studios before Metroid Prime, they weren't horrible, they just didn't have a standout game to prove their worth.
I am wondering how they are going to do the Wii version, though. I heard they ported the CoD4 engine t...

shows off stronger art style than in the other screens and footage so far. I hope they can bring out the art style so the game doesn't look generic.

I think this guy should lay low for awhile. I would rather be in the dark about new Nintendo info than to have some exec deteriorate Nintendo's image. Just look at what has happened to other companies because of this-sure it hasn't killed them, but it hasn't helped either.

Take everybody's PR comments as law. This is a comment by an NOA official. He is not in charge of hardware dev. That comes from Japan. Unfortunately, he shouldn't have said this and it has given Nintendo a bit of a black eye...

They said a lot of encouraging things such as "we are working on voice chat...can't promise anything, but we know it would make the game better." Also, LAN play on Wii is (I think) non-existent so far so it is good to see that as "more than likely". Lack of splitscreen is disappointing. Maybe they will follow CoD4 in this respect or even better would be that combined with LAN play to get 2-4 people per Wii. I don't even think I would mind if they scaled back the graphics a...

The Wii is roughly the same speed as the original Xbox and it has more RAM, so it should at the bare minimum be in that league. In case you are wondering, the developers have made a Wii game that has normal mapping (making it look very close to early 360 games) and that is what is getting so many people on the internet confused. Most people automatically think that High Voltage Software is promising GoW2 graphics or something like that. There are also thousands of people bashing the game and ...

Mm, that it's all for the best? Ah of course it is.
Mmm, what you say?

(I saw your avatar and couldn't help it...)

FFIV looks amazing. I am surprised how much this looks improved over FFIII for DS.

Come on, some of you are basing your opinions of the graphics on a small blurry photo or the youtube version of the trailer. That is stupid. If you did the same with Gears 2 or MGS4 you would be disappointed I'm sure. Check out IGN's video; it won't be the same as playing the game, but at least it beats youtube. While you are there, check out the enlarged versions of the screen shots. Some of them are rough, but they show off the new engine pretty well.
Let me set something straight: th...

you bought into the hype of another game that was less than stellar. (Not bad, but overhyped). Then again, if the Conduit turns out to be great, then the hype was worth it.

A dev team other than Nintendo is trying to make a good looking Wii game, or that the Wii has a standalone topic that has reached 1000 degrees....

Anyway, I think this game will end up looking like MP3: Corruption with normal mapping and more action/multiplayer devotion. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best even if it doesn't "put gears 2 to shame".

they didn't promise PS3 visuals. The article that said that was taking IGN's interview out of context... I know I'm beating a dead horse by repeating this again, but apparently not very many people knew that IGN's words were twisted around...

Take some money out of their Wii Fit marketing budget and use it to fix this their Mario Kart.....ummm advertising?

6493d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'll say it again. IGN's interview with HVS never mentioned the game looking like the PS3. They said that they were trying to make it LOOK like a 360 game. Since they have found a way to to extensive normal mapping and bump mapping as well as other effects on the Wii, they can make a game LOOK like a 360 game, but closer inspection of environments will reveal the lower polygon models. Still, its a great achievement. Unfortunately, another website took IGN's article and twisted it and now you ...

You would see that this guy never promised PS3 visuals. He said (quoted from IGN) "With Conduit, we are trying to make a Wii game that looks like a 360 title." LOOKS not is. I own a Wii this is great news. I also know the Wii can't push nearly as many polygons as the 360 or PS3. I do however know that real time normal and bump mapping can make up for many polygons if used correctly. Until now, devs have said the Wii can't process these effects or use shaders. Unless this is a joke, ...

This game looks great. Just goes to show what a little normal mapping applied in the right areas can do to a lower poly game. So much for those claims that the Wii couldn't do normal mapping. I can't understand how people think this game could be ported to the PS2 to "boost sales". That's saying a lot, 'cause the PS2 can not pull off this level of graphics. And since this is super early stuff, the level of quality can only go up...

It talks about a Wii channel that uses Hulu to stream videos, not download them.

Wouldn't the Wii eventually run out of memory by streaming long videos? I am no expert, but it seems to me that the Wii might have trouble seemlessly streaming long videos.
