@ Unholy
A comment clearly made by someone who has never tried VR, i have been using the Oculus Rift DK2 for well over a year and to me it is a major game changer, it truly brings full immersion to gaming. Games like Project CARS, Elite Dangerous and Alien Isolation are totally out of this world when played in VR, hands down beats playing them on a boring 2D screen. I will never play those games again on a TV/monitor.
Sure, VR is not for every genre of gaming...
No game should require 12gb's ram, hell 8gbs is plenty for the most demanding games, this is totall BS, people should be asking for refunds for what essentially is a faulty product.
Ok confused, i know that vram does not stack, but most new games i play, GTA5, Shad of Mordor, Batman AK all show stacked vram in the graphic options menus. My GTX 970s in SLI show up as 8gb vram.
@taco
You are comparing a PS4 exclusive game to a PC exclusive game, those SC shots were no doubt taken from a monster rig PC, even then Detroit looks bloody amazing, this is coming from a PC gamer with a high end rig.
You will love it, i have the DK2 and Project CARS and Elite Dangerous are bloody amazing in VR.
Damn, i was going to buy the Rift CV1 first, but hearing GT:Sport is getting VR support and now Battlezone as well, PSVR is coming first. As a ten year old, Battlezone was the first computer game I ever played, so 30 years later, i hope it gives me the same sense of awe now as it did all those years ago.
Day one.
Lol, the author is having a laugh right?
Just a word of warning, the USB pen drive needs to be formatted in Fat32 before copying over the PS4 OS, the PS4 will not recognise the USB drive unless it us in that format.
Maybe the author can amend article to reflect this.
Apart from that, great guide, i installed a 2tb hdd a few months ago, took a little under 30mins to complete the whole thing.
@sa927
Are you still spewing that crap? Give it up will ya, it's just pathetic really.
This thing is bloody amazing, i bought it mainly for watching movies on with Kodi, it fits perfectly well into my Home Cinema setup, it is pretty powerful as well with a Tegra 1 GPU in there, puts media players twice the price to shame.
The only thing that bugs me at the moment, is the inability to close apps, you have to either do a restart to close them all or actually go into the app settings and force close the apps individually, not ideal, a massive oversight on Google...
So you're comparing a last gen game against a current gen engine?
Now, that's funny......
@nitus
Timesplitter is right though, dont forget, you are not looking at the screen with naked eyes, you are looking at the screen through two lenses designed to magnify the image. It's called the screen door effect, i have the DK2 Rift and you can cleary see individual pixals. Even though it is great experience, i still think VR needs a 4k screen as the norm, at the minimum 2K.
You may have found it boring, but Star Wars is a massive franchise and with the new movie just around the corner, BF is going to sell big, with Sony having marketing rights it is going to push the PS4 through the roof.
Last rumour i heard was they were thinking of putting that wooden plank mark wahlburg as the lead, might as well get uwe boll to direct it if they are going to do that.
Would not mind a Uncharted movie, get someone like Nathan Fillion(maybe it bit old now) to play Drake and get either Joss Whedon or JJ Abrams to direct it.
Yeah, i wasn't to impressed with the beta itself, this was not on my must buy list, playing the beta doesn't change that.
I'll prob pick it up down the line when it's has had all it's patches and always online removed in a sale or something.
Doh!
@welly
Everybody stop and listen to welly, because, once again, he is right, everybody who thinks Battlefront feels like battlefield stop thinking it now, only welly has played both games and only he can determine how both games play.............. /s
Thank god, no one gives a DAMN about your opinion.
It doesn't feel like a Battlefront game, it feels more like a Battlefield game, i'am not saying that's a bad thing, dunno, just cant put my finger on it, the magic of previous Battlefront games is just not there.
Think i'am gonna give this a miss.
Jeez, you guys are getting real real desperate to downplay The Uncharted Collection, port, whatever man, it's just pathetic. lol.
Pretty sure Star Wars and Black Ops will counter what Halo has to offer, and TR is no where near a system seller.
I have literally spent hours at a time playing Elite Dangerous in VR, i have done full 60 lap races in Project CARS in VR, it is just like any other non VR gaming session.
People in here are writing off VR before they have even tried it, it's crazy.
