Back on topic, I bought this game back at launch and at that time I thought it was a pretty basic GT as opposed to a proper GT.
Just recently got back into this game and I must say now that I have spent some more time with it , I’m really liking how they have the online setup for this game.

I’m still not convinced Sony can get PS3 emulation working, where I can pop what ever gen PlayStation into ps5 and the game works.
Don Mattrick sunk Xbox, thankfully Phil has corrected most if not all of those early mistakes.
I think you want each console to flip first each gen, keeps everyone competitive and hungry, if the same one wins every gen they get complacent and we get PS3 all over again.

Nintendo is my couch MP/ game night w family console

Cross play is still based on player input device to draw the player pool. Controller vs Controller
KBM vs KBM.
The only way those get mixed is if a KBM player is in your party just like in Fortnite.
Cross play + cross progression is the next step for Next Gen.

Cross play and 1st party exclusives are separate things and one doesn’t mean anything to the other.
I hope all 3rd party games that’s available on all platforms offers cross play, or at the very least offer cross progression.
