World at War is one of the bloodiest and darkest war games out. Anyone that says the game isn't great is just a hater. The amount of polish in the game is insane. The only problem is the questionable a.i. but everything else is great. I still prefer COD4 multiplayer though.
Play COD:WAW and then play this and you will understand the difference in polish, and that's a fact. This game has one good thing going for it, the number of enemies on screen, it's impressive. But, the story has no depth whatsoever, all you do is run and gun from a to b, the characters are extremely corny, the graphics look like Rainbow Six Vegas(Let's face it, compared to Bioshock which came out last year, these graphics are garbage). For me, this was perfect. I love games that end on a bad note. Not that Dom finding his wife is the game's ending or anything, it's just towards the end and established the losing fight against the locust. It gives you more of a reason to want to kill them. This is great news. I only wish they would make the trophies a bit more of a challenge. I hate it when it tells me I earned a trohy for passing a level, that's kind of dumb.
This is definitely great news for gamers. The only thing I wish they would change is make the trophies more unique. Instead of getting a trophy for passing a certain level or beating the game/boss, they should make it harder like some of the challenges in COD4. They would then have more of a sense of achievement in my opinion. If I beat a game, I could care less if I get a trophy. I have to disagree. This game is soooo vast and it all comes together so realistically. If you say V.A.T.S. makes the game easy, you didn't play it. You run out of points and you can't always rely on V.A.T.S. and it also isn't always accurate. Some enemies snipe, super mutants charge at you with overwhelming strength and you have to cripple limbs to slow them down, so you're claim that enemies can't fight back is also BOGUS. Each game is very unique in it's own way and I think they compliment each other. I hope Infinity Ward and Treyarch make plenty more high quality FPS games that run on this awesome engine.

Resistance 2 and Left for Dead are two of the biggest disappointments of the year in my opinion.
I would recommend Gears of War 2 over this game every day of the week and twice on sunday. I don't think this game lives up to the hype at all :( I think Resistance 2 and Left for Dead fail to deliver a triple A experience like Fallout 3, Dead Space, or Gears 2. Just my opinion.
I feel like the game is a bit of a letdown. Maybe it's because I have been spoiled by such eye candy like Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Dead Space, and Call of Duty: World at War. This game is freakin awesome when there's a massive amount of zombies overwhelming you or when the tank comes after you but the repetitive nature seems to bog the overall experience down. I love the AI director which makes for a different experience everytime. I don't like the lack of a save system, I mean WTF is that?...
