TV signals are going DIGITAL only in 2009...as in, analog tvs will no longer work without converters. HD signals cost broadcasters a LOT more $ than they are making with it due to the small percentage of subscribers that actually have HDTVs.

MOST people STILL do not have HDTVs so the whole Blu Ray point is moot. DIVX and XVID are the best codec standards for video and thanks to MS backing up what they claimed (unlike Sony) the 360 is now the choice for media.

Look at the trailers for MGS4 from E3 06, then look at the latest trailers...the framerate has c-h-o-p-p-e-d...for instance, the fight between the robot chick and the ninja guy or whatever...the framerate is crap.
