I find video games to be a lot MORE timeless than literature or movies...music on the other hand...I'd say music is about equal to video games in terms of potential timelesness.

Nytr8 - agreed 100%. Uncharted is generic mish-mash of genres with nothing that makes it unique or special.
It's funny seeing Sony try their damndest to know what gamers want nowadays and are completely clueless in doing such.

MS has realized what gamers want and it's NOT old PS brand-type games...hence why R&C and Uncharted has flopped. I only see FF as a series making a big console sales impact for PS3 and possibly GT but MGS has never been a system seller.
Uncharted, in particular, does NOTHING besides nice graphics to stand out...it's merely a pale mish-mash of pop-and-shoot/prince of persia/tomb raider/pitfall with no true original gameplay elements.
And THIS is why Japan doesn't matter...50k is merely pocket change compared to the likes of what something like Halo 3 did in 1st day sales.
Software sales matter a lot more than hardware sales and the 360 is dominating the PS3. The Wii and DS sell too many trash and kiddie games (see amazon.com best sellers) to be taken seriously outside of a hit every 3-4 months.
Hm...gotta say that the demo seems to make drifting a LOT more difficult than past Burnouts...why?!
