Well they do have a store where you can use in game currency to buy the skin or whatever item you want. But you gain that currency only from loot boxes. I definitely see where youre coming from.

I think your testimony speaks to the fact that DICE is an industry leading developer while the decisions of the publisher (EA) causes DICE to be overlooked for the great game they have created.
This is so awesome. I'm all for cosmetics, but it was clearly starting to become a problem. Publishers will see how much they can get away with for the almighty dollar.

Starter decks were present where you would know exactly what you get and how many cards were in there. But if you buy a pack of cards, you get 7 (I think), and at least one will be uncommon. There is a chance of scoring an ultra or secret rare, though. It reminds me of buying these packs in these games. Where you are promised probably one uncommon card with a chance of getting a legendary item.
If loot boxes are gambling then buying a pack of yugioh cards is too. I hate em but its not gambling imo.
