Yes they would. Putting glasses on to play for long periods of time isn't exactly fun. Grab some random glasses that weigh as much as 3D shutter glasses do and wear them for 2 hours and tell me how it feels.
You know what's funny? All PS3 fanboys rave about PS+ yet they don't realise that all the "free" stuff you get is just a ploy to make you PAY for online play.

You're right that plasmas are also great TVs, just depends who you ask. ;) I probably prefer LED but Panasonic's V-series Plasmas are amazing.
And you're probably getting Disagrees because the TVs you linked to aren't SONY. Anyone with TV knowledge would know both Samsung and Panasonic televisions out-do Sony's any day.
The difference with blu-ray and HDTV versus 3D TV is that both HDTV and Blu-ray had practical uses for the introduction of those technologies. Blu-ray, people asked "will we need that much storage?" and clearly we do now. HDTV, people thought it would be too expensive and there wasn't a huge difference in image quality, but clealy watching 1080 broadcasts now shows us the difference.

I sure as hell am not saying 3D is shit or anything, so why are you jumping the gun? I agree with you sam2236. 3D is a gimmick and I'll keep saying that. I work with 3D TVs and I honestly don't see it as more of a "cool" thing the 1st time people see it. Once you've seen it people complain about having to wear the glasses and the weird "flickering" the active shutter glasses do.
